25 minute sessions at the mid-west roller coaster?! Phew! Better be in shape for that one. 20 miinutes in a formula one and I'm worn out. Started getting in shape for that one a month ago. Vintage race coming up first week of October.
Tip to all, go to the Hallett web page and watch the videos of the car on course. Well worth the view. Have fun and watch out on turn two, not much in the way of run-off. Al "phonse" B. Team LOST #31 |

I'm seriously considering this. It would be my first ever track event though, so I'm a little nervous about committing. Can you provide me an idea of how aggressive the driving will be. My main concern is that I screw up and cause trouble for someone else!

No way to determine how other children will play. A lot of what happens can be controlled by those running the show, by where and when passing is allowed, and how the groups are divied up. Hallett has two long straights and a short back one. If it's your first time I suggest you stay with the beginners group and take the time to get comfortable with the course, the program, and your own skill levels. Once you have an idea of how things are going you can better judge what will work and what won't.
Most importantly, don't let your ego do the driving. Have fun! |

Hallett is a great track. Taking a look at the videos would be very helpful to those uninitiated.
If you are in the area, we will be holding Atomfest from October 18 - 20. It looks like we will have 30 + Ariel Atoms for the weekend. In addition, we will have the designer and the US manufacturer at Hallett. Hope to see you there. By the way, check out Atomfest.net for some great on track videos of Hallett! Tim Webb |

I will be purchasing a Lotus in the future. Would this be a good place to go and learn about set ups, preparation for track, etc?

Would love to come out and play but Team LOST has a race the following weekend at TWS and the powers that be and sign the paycheck are only so understanding with regards to time off for racing. Have a good time, I'll be looking forward to a post track day report. Al B. |

I'm pretty sure I'm in for this. If I'm really lucky then my new wheels will be in and I'll be running RA1s instead of A048s.
I'll be checking with my team later today to make sure there won't be any conflicts.

Rich don't forget spacers. We should have made a point to observe the rear caliper clearance as well, while we had the wheels on your car.
Let me check the clearances on my car tonight. Let's figure there was about a 1mm interference or less on your front calipers. I'll see how much clearance I've got, then we can establish the difference between stock hat thickness and your aftermarket hat thickness. I'll report back tonight. xtn

Mark, what is happening on the tech day on Sunday? It says yall have the hotels reserved for the 28th (only) with the discount rate, and driving from Houston is going to be a looooong ass drive (10-12) hrs. Is this mandatory? Thanks.

Jeff:
You can do the tech inpsection on the 29th at the track. We just knock out as many as we can the afternoon/evening of the 28th at the hotel. Key things are helmet (SA2000) or newer, clean brake fluid, good brake pads, safety belt/restraints/harness functioning properly, tires in good shape, no leaks, wheels properly torqued, nothing loose in or on the car and brain is in the right mode. ![]() Call me if you have questions.
