lcs south

I have 9 applications from Texas so far. 14 to go!
I am shooting for your first event in April. I would recommend you contact your local dealers and let them know you are interested in doing the series and to pass the word to their clients. I will prepare a brochure for you to pass out at the next hpde you attend. BTW when we started the lcs w it took time to build the core group of drivers but after the first event they were hooked. On another note Lotus challenge series will be at LOG 29 . So if you are participarting in Texas you will be allowed to join us Bondurant.

I am in Louisiana and could make some events. Please put me on your contact lists. I have an 06 LSS that is setup for SCCA Solo Superstock. Will I have to replace my seats and get a harness setup?

Welcome to the list. I do not know if Jim has contacted No Problem Racepark in baton rouge, but I did mention it as a possible track venue.
Hope to see you in 09.
bon ton roulet. (Is that right?)

As for your questions I leave that to Jim as he knows the rules best.

CLOSE! Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez! (Let the good times roll!)

I have just started running TT at NPR. I did a summer series TT there and really liked it. It is a unique course. I have some video of my first time doing a TT ever at NPR. I was on Potenza RE01-R's and drove to the track. http://userpages.xfoneusa.net/~brian.../npr060108.wmv

This should give you a good idea of the course. I could give you some names of some folks that I know that are involved in the Grand Bayou Racing Series that is currently going on right now. They may be able to help with a Lotus Challenge Race there.

I know the Ferrari guys do an annual thing in New Orleans and then hit NPR for the day.

Ah.... remember back to the good old days when you spend more time backwards in the grass than anyone in the area?

Anyway, to stay on topic for this thread, I know two Elise owners, not frequenting the forum apparently, who have verbally told me they would be interested in a time trial type event or two here in Texas.

Is that vague enough to up the headcount?

It's 2009 and the holiday celebration activities are done. Time to revive the sign up effort.
Any more takers?

Lotus challenge series south

Its time to "manup' and decide if you all want to have a series. I imagine that the slow responses were due to the misconception that we are a wheel 2 wheel series. Although we have done several races our focus is developing the time trial series. This series will allow you to focus on your driving skills without the competition of a w2w race. In addition roll cages are not required in the time trial series. I am looking forward to expanding the series to the south. let me know. Jim

Let's do this, folks. Alphonse suggested it, and I'm buying a car for it. If this doesn't happen, I figure Alphonse owes me about 40K, and I feel kinda bad for him

Just saw this thread. That's me in the black and silver suit in the center (unfurtunately that was not my trophy....last year). Just thought I'd chime in and offer my thoughts on LCS South:

Waaaayy too much fun y'all. Make it happen! These cars are hot on the track, but the mercury jumps when everyone's in a Lotus. We've all been having a blast with LCS and Jim runs a real good show with the track queens, the pomp and glory, all the niceties us gentlepeople require to have a really great time at the track. No crowds, no GM cars, just our tribe, great comradery and lots of track time. This is NOTHING like a normal day at the track, trust me.

More people have registered were at 14. We need another 10 to get the ball rolling . For the people who registered, i will get you the membership information. It will not have the schedule since we are not officially committed.
It is going to happen . Jim

lcss

I received two more today . We are at 16 and it is time to start planning the first event. BTW i have started to line up sponsors for lcss and spring mountain motor sports ranch home of the lotus driving school has sponsored you by giving a two day school worth $1895.00 to a class winner (tbd). I need another 8 to sign up so i can officially book a track . So keep telling your friends that the series is heading there way. Thanks alphonse and chilli red for pushing this .

Heh. Shouldn't they give that class to a class loser?
