i spoke with another track lotus nut.. he brought up a good point, without a set date there are quite a number of well experienced (frequent scca/nasa) people out there who cannot commit without seeing the schedule if there is interference with local races..

I can appreciate that but our series attracts the hpde driver who wants to compete in a lotus only event . Nasa, Scca are catering to a large group of drivers . We cannot put a schedule together and pay deposits until we have sufficent interest . This series is not your typical track day . We may not attract the guy who wants to compete a field of cars . Also we start with timetrial series .

Just send mine in. Is it now down to 8 more needed? Post the list of people that are in and we can bug those who haven't signed up.

Work on those in the SA area. You'll see them at the local HPDE events or Lotus gatherings in your area.

Since we are getting somewhat close to the magic number of participants, I guess it's time to size up the competition.

List the class that you'll be running in:

N/A Stock
1.
2.

N/A Modified
1. Shine
2.

Forced Induction
1.
2.

Cup
1.
2.

Ultra Stock
1.
2.

If you don't know how the classes are determined, go here: Rules, Classes and Allowed Modifications for the Lotus Challenge Series and click on the link for the 2009 rules.

Jim,

How goes the sign up status? how many do we have at this time?

We have some up and coming track events taking place in the next few weeks so we will try to push the idea along then.

Have pretty much covered all the local club websites.

I would check the schedules of the Driver's Edge and Apex as they are heavily attended events:

The Drivers Edge
Apex Driving Academy

Chili can probably point you towards some of the others as it looks as if he is at the track every weekend.

Actually Ive been at the track the last 4 weekends and will be there the next 2 weekends.. I think Ill have to take a couple weeks off after that..

Pretty much all the Lotus Drivers I know of only attend the Drivers Edge and Apex events. Every now and then Ill do a NASA event, and have not attended a PCA event yet.

I have been waiting for our new web site to go on line to split the series between west and south . I have 18 as of yesterday. I am planning on having 6 events this year but i need to know we have 23 confirmed. I understand the difficulties of not having dates but i dont want to put down deposit money until we know the number. The chicken or the egg. I have thought of piggy backing with other track organizers were i could buy a run group which we did here last year very successfully. We will see. Our series on the west coat added 9 new drivers and i anticipate a grid of 25-30 cars per event.
In the interim i will send everyone the membership package so you all can review them. Thanks, Jim

Jim,

message posted at 2:32 [b]AM[b] Man I was in deep Tahiti at that time. you working the night shift?

Desperately trying to get the last 6 or so needed. Having a tough time of it which considering how many like to play on the track just beats the heck out of me.
Hoping for the best and a few last minute hold outs.

Good one Will, glad to have you on board. If you know any others who might be interested please chat them up on this program. We still need a few more to make it happen and it would be a real shame to let this opportunity slip by.
with all the Lotus owners we have in Texas I am surprised that it's been this tough to get people to sign up.
See you at the track.

Hello from Vegas,
We are getting close to our magic number of 23. Our new website will have a dedicated area for the south series. I am planning on going to Houston and San Antonio next month to discuss the series with the dealers . I may want to have a get together with the clubs. Any ideas?? I am thinking the week of the 16th.
