OK - here's post 501
![]() E.D. I just fixed your account and registered you for the AutoX school on June 6. If you wanted to do the actual AutoX and not the school you can delete the registration. You were having two problems with your account: 1. You selected the DEMO CLUB and not Motorsports NE. (DEMO Club may have been the default). 2. You did not register your car correctly in the garage. I had to pick a number for you (212) but you can change this to anything. Just click on my garage and edit it. Now you can AutoX with us - Whooo Hooo! ![]()

Also, for anyone interested:
Sometimes this site has problems letting you see the registration list and results if you are logged in as yourself. So I created a temporary account that we use to log in and view this stuff. Anyone can use it: Login: triplem Pass: marenick

Did I mention you're a great guy! Did I mention that I really like the color of your interior! Thanks again. Let's see if I'm also quicker in AutoX after humiliating you on the track ![]()

who is going to the event on May 24th?
I've never been to an auto-x and looking to attend with my Elise. Is there a registration prior to the event? Do you just show up? -Robert

Couple of questions for my upcoming AutoX school debut:
1. Since I'm 100% new: will there be an instructor with me in the car? If so, can I also kick him out sometimes so I instead can take a friend aboard? 2. Dumb question: I assume that helmets are required for both driver and passenger.

Question 1 for Enrico:
There will be an instructor for the first couple runs at least. Once they see you're OK, you can kindly kick them out. You cannot bring a friend unfortunately...Only instructors. Question 2: The competition requires helmets and school technically does, but NOBODY at the school wears helmets. So don't worry about it. We'll point out which instructors are good. My instructor last week was AWESOME. Unfortunately, he won't be around June 6th because he is competing in Nationals ![]()

Q1: that sucks, it's that because I'm novice or is nobody allowed to take a passenger in their car because of legal reasons?
Another question: is he allowed to drive my car (instead of me driving) or am I the only allowed driver for my car? If he can't get in my car, I guess he need to AutoX sometime in his own car: Audi RS4...a quite capable car...accelerates like hell, but not so good in corners according to the owner itself.

It's for liability reasons. Most instructors ask to drive your car at some point, but feel free to say NO. It's your car. Nothing requires you to let their scuzzy asses drive them. Usually they just get bored of instructing and want some fun. My last instructor said he would never force someone to let him drive, only if they asked. He never asked me but I asked him to drive twice, and you know what? I learned a lot. And he had a blast. He was an awesome guy and I actually requested him. But you can definitely learn by watching a skilled driver drive. DISCLAIMER: Not all instructors are skilled.....

That's what I thought. Thx for answers!
I will just pray for a good instructor, feel free to point out the lousy ones!
