Me, too. Mostly Plymouth and Lincoln. How's the parking lot at the Ashland location? I remember it being a little tight but it's been a while.

Did you notice the route starts at the Common Man in Plymouth? I should ask for a fuel sponsorship.

If we go on a Saturday then 10/11 would probably be better than the 4th or the 27th. I don't want to drive around up there right at the peak. We could walk down the Kanc faster.

If we do a weekday then the sooner the better. We'll have more foul weather options and we can try to squeeze in another October event.

Second: I have to make the next one, so Sundays are out.

I'll start a poll for weekday vs. Saturday. If we can get enough weekday attendees I suggest we do that. A lot of these roads are empty on weekdays. I know Jeff, Fred, and I can do weekdays so that's a good start.

We will stop at Polly's. I haven't been there in the Lotus since I bought it, so I like that idea. I'll add some poll options to include Hurricane Mt. Road, Moat Mt. Brewery, Dinner (Common Man).

Congrats on the new baby girl!

The only weekdays I could do are 9/26, 10/10, and 10/24. Saturday 10/25 might be good too...past peak, much fewer cars. If I have to choose between colors and lateral g's, the g's have it.

This is the reference loop I'm using to piece together the next one or two events. Suggestions welcome.

from:Unknown road to:Warren, nh to:lost river rd. nh to:swiftwater, NH to:672 Sugar HIll Rd (Route 117), Sugar Hill, NH 03586 (Polly's Pancake Parlor, Inc) to:Lincoln, nh to:West Side Rd, North Conway, Carroll, New Hampshire 03860, United States

Points:
A) Hooksett Rest Area just after Hooksett tolls on I-93 North
B, C, D) Forces loop through Sawyer Highway and Lost River Rd.
E) Polly's Pancake Parlor - Sugar Hill, New Hampshire - A White Mountains tradition
F) Lincoln, NH. Forces Kancamagus Highway / Possible refuel stop
G) West Side Road. Bypasses North Conway traffic to get to Hurricane Mountain Rd. In this direction we would probably actually take Bear Notch Rd, but Google Maps doesn't allow it.
H) Hurricane Mountain Road - A rather unique driving experience. Again, Google Maps doesn't allow it. We would drive it in both directions.
I ) Moat Mountain Smokehouse and Brewing Co. - One of the better stops in North Conway and perfect for a group like ours. We've eaten lunch here the past two years running.
J) West Side Road. Bypasses the North Conway traffic to get to Route 16. There are several other side roads we can use to get to Lake Chocorua if we need to. Great picture stop, BTW.
K) Forces the loop to stay on 113A.
L) Common Man in Ashland. Possible dinner stop.

Options:
- Weekday version (Polly's breakfast)
- A Saturday (10/11) version (Moat Mountain lunch / HMR)
- We could do one epic loop. The mileage is similar to last years HMR run and we did Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner that time, too.
- Either could include dinner at the Common Man or someplace in that neighborhood. (I'm partial to the Woodshed, but it would make for a late night since it's not near the highway.)
- Etc.

Ya the parking there is a tad tough. I usually park across the street in the small lot, but I still have no idea whether that's kosher or not. I have never been towed or reprimanded, that's all I know. Most folks seem to do the same.

Weekends or weekdays are OK for me; I can make it work for me for the mostpart. Actually, Jeff has a good point: weekdays = less traffic.

Congrats on your new daughter. That's good news.

Looks like I'll be at NHMS on Friday. 10/10 under consideration.

Perhaps:
Hooksett Departure 7:00 am (yup, early)
Polly's Breakfast 9:30-10:30 am
Lincoln Refuel 12:00-12:30
HMR / Moat Mt. late lunch/early dinner/snack/hang/pics/etc. 15:00-16:00 (could change this to be different. But HMR and Moat are good points. Could skip it for a dinner at C-man or somewhere no I-93 S, etc.)
I-93 south 18:00

10/10 and the rest of that weekend are out.

10/19 is ok, as is 10/25 -10/26.

Shawn,

Congrats on the new arrival! Looks like an Evora may be in your future.

10/10 looks good for me. Think we should try to avoid the rest of the weekend (even if foliage is beyond peak, Columbus Day weekend traffic is always terrible).

Regards,

Fred

I made that mistake two years ago. I didn't even realize it was Columbus Day weekend until it was too late.

Funny you should mention the Evora. I've been thinking about that as an option someday. I might just get a Caterham instead and let the kids fight for shotgun.
