NJ Cars & Croissants Schedule for2012

Some very cool cars: 250 SWB, Lancia Stratos, Alpine, European Dino, steam cars, lots of Ferraris, Lambos, antiques, classics, the occasional hot rod, E-Types, etc.

We had a Lexus LFA, pre-release M5, soon the McLaren. How about a TVR powered by Supra Turbo?

Lots of Lotus owners too. Perhaps, too many Porsches (j/k)

BTW, owner of the F 250SWB restored the car himself, gave me a really lovely tour of it, worth maybe $4-$5 million. A simply gorgeous car....

All,

As we have discussed privately and on this forum, given the interest in C&C, we have outgrown our current location. We appreciate all of the ideas you have given us. We have considered a number of alternatives, with our objectives being: room to grow, accessibility from a driving perspective, and availability of food/drink and bathrooms. We believe we have found a location that fits these parameters and will "try it on for size" this Sunday, April 15 (change
from Saturday on the schedule):

Hilton Parsippany
One Hilton Court
Parsippany, NJ

Which parking lot? Please go to the back side of the hotel (west side near the ballroom entrance). If you enter the Hilton lot with the main entrance in front of you, take an immediate right and follow the internal road around to the back side of the building

Date: Sunday, April 15
Time: 8:30 am to 11:00 am

This hotel is located off of Route 10, just west of 287. It is easily
accessible from routes 287, 10, 24, 80, 46, and 202 among other major routes. They have hosted major car events in the past, including Lead East and Porsche Club events, and are eager to have us there. We have had to move the date from Saturday given other events at the hotel that day. There is a coffee shop inside with the usual breakfast fare as well as a couple of restaurants including a Ruth's Chris for those of you who want your Sunday meat and potatoes after C&C. And, we have access to the bathrooms!

We understand that some may find this location "better" and others may not be as happy. Recognize that a group that is our size and comes from all over the area is not easy to accomodate. Let's try this out and see how it goes. See you all on Sunday. Please let your friends know who may not get this email.

FOR SUNDAY, April 29 NEW LOCATION


Folks,

Thanks to the efforts of Officer Scott Herchick of the Chatham Township Police Department, we have a new location for this weekend's Cars and Croissants meet:

The Chatham High School Parking Lot
255 Lafayette Avenue
Chatham, NJ 07928

This location returns us to Chatham but without some of the perks of the Shunpike mall: there are no bakeries or restroom facilities nearby! For those bringing your own baked goods and drinks, please make sure you carry out any trash as we don't want to leave it all over the parking lot.

This location is also much more suburban so we would like to request everyone to be on their best behavior (no revving, no burnouts, no loud music, etc.). We would like to be the best guests who come and go without a trace!

Until we find a permanent location or set of locations, we will let the group know about the locations as far in advance as possible via Yahoo groups.

Please let your friends in the various forums know about the location for this weekend. We don't want to leave stragglers all over North NJ!

The Exoticars open house is very worthy of a visit. Wil De Groot always has a workshop full of rare and very valuable cars undergoing work. Wil's scratch built Maserati roadster is magnificent. You look at it and say...hmmm...nice fiberglass body and then you realize it is all hand-shaped aluminum Just magnificent workmanship/craftmanship.

While not exactly rare one of my cars is in the shop right now so I will be there to check its status out, maybe fire it up to clear the sinus? Sadly, it will be too cold to bring the seven along - its locked away for its winter refresh.

Going to try, though it may depend on my ability to wake up at 6AM on a Sunday. That's kinda 50-50ish right now :P
