I made the above post just to get the info out there so that participants could plan ahead and to generate excitement for the event.

You will notice there is a lack of info on how to purchase tickets. While the package has been decided, I am unsure if the mechanism to get the package is set up. So in order to avoid confusion and the ineveitable, "I couldn't get the package deal" posts I am witholding the info until I am sure it is executable.

Ticket Purchase info is now available

Ticket purchase info is now available. The only way to get the discount is to call and order tickets. If you do not do this you will not be able to buy the package.

Participants will be able to buy a regular ticket at the gate, but I encourage early purchase because NJMP will be gauging participation by ticket sales and will allocate space in the paddock according to advance ticket sales. If nobody buys an advance ticket and everyone shows up and buys a regular ticket at the gate we will not get adequate paddock space for the corral!

4 weeks to go. Is there any interest in this event?

I just sent my entries in to SVRA so you know I'll be there. I was kinda hopin' that there would be a throng of Lotuseers to cheer me on.

I was also just looking at the race schedule. I am in groups 2 (Type 61) and 9 (Type 69). My on track session for Saturday will be done by 1:35 so there will be plenty of time for race car tech.

I also noticed that Historic Grand Prix was going to have a group so there is hope of a Lotus F1 car of some sort. I'll update when the preliminary entry list is published.

I'll be there, I'm literally 5 min from the track and spend as much time as possible there. If you need anything or I can help at all just let me know.

I'm IN.

At least one other LEO is committed too. (Well, we should ALL be "committed", sorry about the unfortunate choice of words...)

So that makes for 5 participants thus far, a pretty good start three weeks before the event. I was hoping for many more, though I suspect there are a lot of potentials who are waiting to commit and buy. I don't want to push too hard, but certain things like paddock space allocation and whether we will be given any parade laps will be determined on advance ticket sales, so it benefits the event for those who are planning on going to buy their tickets now rather than later.

When SVRA posts their preliminary entry list I will scan it for Lotus entires and post them here. It certainly is relevant, and I hope it will generate additional interest, especailly if Historic Grand Prix has one or more Lotus F1 entries.

SVRA finally has an entry list posted. It can't possibly be up to date, because my entries are not listed!

But so far:

1 S1 Seven
3 S2 Seven
1 S1 Seven
1 Type 47 (looks like S1 Europa, but with formula car engine and transaxle)
1 Type 51 (cigar shaped Formula Ford)
2 Type 23B (TC engined sports racer)

Plus my

Type 61mX (wedge shaped Formula Ford)
Type 69 (in F2 wing and slick configuation)

Historic GP cars not listed in entry list, they organize on their own.

Don't forget to buy tickets ahead of time.

There are changes to the SVRA schedule that will potentially affect the Lotus corral schedule.

Sadly, for an unknown reason Historic GP is off the schedule. So no F1 cars, at least not as a stand alone group. I know this is disappointing, but please don't let it dissuade you from attending.

Second is my race schedule for Saturday. My groups will be on track as follows:

0800 - Type 61
1130 - Type 69
1300 - Type 61
1600 - Type 69

This gives us the afternoon between sessions to do Formula Car Tech with or without refreshments. Or the refreshments can be after the 1600 session (my preference because I don't want the added weight for qualifying).

No additional updates on Lotus entries, but will post when available.

Kyle

The latest on the Lotus Corral at NJMP is that there are 8 presold tickets. I am sure there will be some last minute sales and probably some who don't bother with the discount but will still show up.

I have asked for space for 12 Lotus in the corral, I can only hope that we run out of space and have to meastasize to other parts of the paddock.

Please Please Please contact Atwell Haines (karbuff@optonline.net) to coordinate refreshements for the late Sat afternoon refreshments.

It is Powerslide Motorsports intention to be immediately visible once you enter the paddock area, so it should be obious where to go.

I'll be leaving tomorrow. See you this weekend.

Kyle asked for this to be cross posted from PALS:
The Lotus Corral is in a flagged off space close to the first garage where his cars are paddocked.

I just got home from NJMP and meeting up with Kyle. We took the race cars off track for a police escorted ride into downtown Millville and stopped for a brief car show. What a blast. The SVRA has a good turnout and the paddock is quite full. Everyone should bring the family out we're having a really good time. When you come over the bridge look hard left towards the track, the last area of grass is where the Lotus and British cars will be. See you all tomorrow.

Had a great time today at the SVRA event at NJMP. About 8 PALS and LEO members attended. The weather was excellent. None of the threatened rain/thunderstorms materialized.
Between practice and qualifying for his Sunday races Kyle led us through the paddock for a look at the various Lotus' that were competing. They probably outnumbered the street cars at the track by 2 to 1. The most notable competition car was a Lemans winning 11. My favorite.
Here are some pictures including.

Thanks again Kyle!
