I saw your thread title and had to check this out...I was driving a red elise yesterday afternoon in CT down Route 8 and then 95S to HRM. It wasn't me though.

OK, let's get this straight.

Just because someone says something bad about a Jewish person (insert stereotype here), that does not make the comment anti-semetic. An anti-semetic comment, gesture, act, etc. occurs when you bash their religion.

Personally, I don't see why people don't get all up in arms when other religions are bashed but when it comes to the Jewish people's faith it's practically a sin. Either we can bash all religions or none. It's like the use of the "N" word.

No, I don't have "issues" but my wife is half Arab. I have many Jewish friends but I guess it's just a peeve of mine that anytime an anti-Jewish people comment is made, people are off to the races calling it anti-semetic. I was just trying to point out that there is a distinct difference. That is all, promise.

see "Jewish" is used to describe two things: 1. The Jewish people...culturally, as a race of people, etc. and, 2. The faith of the Jews.

So, to make a racist comment against a Jewish person is NOT anti-semetic BUT to pick at their faith and bash the Tora, or whatever else pertaining to the religion, IS anti-semetic.

edit: that is what my Jewish friends told me, however Dictionary.com disagrees. Their definition is simply, "A person who hates Jews". So, I guess I stand corrected. I apologize and will walk away from this thread.
