I recently bought an E46 M3 so I would really like to log some miles on it
Well, since you brought it up. Some info. Particularly, route 17 which is easily one of the best driving roads in the Northeast. I was thinking about driving this route in October.

The route below traverses all four mountain passes between route 4 and I-89 and includes the Rt-17-Lincoln Gap loop and the best part of route 100.

from:US-2 @44.296764, -72.686011 to:Lincoln Rd @44.127339, -73.046085 to:VT-100 @44.003478, -72.850316 to:Court St/US-7/VT-125 @44.010080, -73.163010 to:Lake Dunmore Rd/VT-53 @43.909063, -73.066454 to:VT-107 @43.824750, -72.583450 - Google Maps

There is some dirt on this route but only Lincoln Gap IIRC. It is a problem with some roads in Vermont. It's much less of an issue in NH. You could plan around it. If you do it let us know.

Kanc +:

People drive the Kanc all the time and are completely oblivious to this 13 mile stretch of forest:

from: Linsey Rd @43.937560, -71.881160 to: 44.021953,-71.732483 - Google Maps

Less traffic than the Kanc, too. It's getting a little bumpy (so is Bear Notch road.) but they repaved some of it from what I heard.

Still trying to get a feel for what you guys want - Hotel/Motel. If your getting in late friday night and up Saturday AM as long as the room is clean and your car is safe. That should work.

If you want fine dinning and luxury accomodations I'll look into more of that.

Southern White Loops:

I was thinking about driving this loop for this years NMBM but then I started looking into the four pass route up top.

from: Linsey Rd @43.937560, -71.881160 to: 44.021953,-71.732483 - Google Maps

I would prefer the something like the resort in Whitefield, but don't count my vote since I probably can't make it.

are you saying the place is booked? if so are you thinking of new dates, or are you sticking with the weekend of the 20th?

I can get you a room here: It is a better jumping off point to do Route 100 in VT. But it will extend your drive up on Friday at least 30 minutes (further North).

New Hampshire Ski Resort - New England Ski Resort | The Balsams

I can call the management and possibly negotiate rooms. Same thing...how serious are you guys. I can put this together for you (knock your socks off/show you a side of New England few tourist ever see). I just don't want to do the leg work and have people bail out...work, family, personal comittements.

Ok great I'll put it together. The only consideration I have is rain. If 3 days before it looks like a wash out we cancell and reschedule for a later date. Depends on how much notice Hotel requires.

I will post all the details before the weekend is out. Looking forward to it.

Here is the Lodging for Friday Night September 19th. New Hampshire Bed and Breakfast - A New Hampshire Getaway - Chesterfield NH Inn is near Brattleboro, VT and Delights with a Full Restaurant and Luxury Rooms

Close to Rte 91/ Vermont Rte 100/ Southern Vermont... so easier for long distant travelers. Easy meeting spot Saturday Morning for local Lotus Owners interested in the Scenic Tour of Rte 100 Vermont.

As of right now there are 10 rooms available. Please book right away, 5 day cancellation policy (so we will keep an eye on the weather, week of the 20th).

Please don't wait to book your room it, most Inns and Resorts have a 2 night minumum stay. Once the rooms are full it will be very hard find a place to stay.

What time did you call? I posted it up after 9pm and figured it was to late to call last night. I'm going to call and make my reservation late this morning. Please try again.

If you want a room for Friday night that is September 19th.

You got to figure she had been up since 5am making breakfast for the guests on a Holiday weekend.

She may even have been sleeping.

You know it took me about 3 hours on the computer to find a place close to Rte 91, close to the start of Rte 100, without a two night minum, with a Restaurant and availability. Last but not least close enough to get the Local Lotus Owners to jump in on Saturday if they are not available friday night.
