Hey Guys,

If you are on Long Island some of the LOG stay-at-homes are meeting at the Vanderbuilt Concours.

And on Aug 9th more of us are going down to NJ Motorsports Park for the SVRA races.

Right now I gotta get ready for today's LOG activities!

Mike you could have gone out last minute, I knew of at least two room reservations that canceled, no takers....

Ok, how about this for a bear mountain run. I've never driven around up there, but this looks pretty fun. Start off in Ringwood NJ near 287 and head up north skyline rd and long meadow rd toward bear park. Then drive over toward the military school, but I hear bear mountain bridge rd. is kinda slow with the cops and traffic. Figure we still do it and get some food/drinks (Chinese buffet?) up there in the area. Then get lost coming back home looking for more fun roads. BM does this work for you?

Google Map

I guess I can put this in my GPS and lead, but I don't know the road, areas, where cops usually hang out and I don't have a radar detector. Someone wanna lend me theirs if I lead?

So, lets see some responses and when we wanna meet up. Just make sure it's after F1 tomorrow. Who's in?

I found the route peck555 had for us (from/to his house in White Plains) which I think he got from some motorcycle magazine... looks like a similar route....

287 to TZB....Palisades Pkwy north to exit 14 (route 210)...left off exit into Harriman State Park (continue on route 210)...Go halfway round traffic circle (as I remember we did several laps around the circle) and continue on route 106. Right turn onto Route 17 North (Red Apple Rest will be on the right). Continue North on Route 17. Right back into park on Arden Valley Road.
Go one quarter around traffic circle and take Seven Lakes Drive. Follow signs to Lake Welch Drive to end.
Take Tiorati Brook Road, go quarter round circle. take Seven Lakes Drive North. Follow signs to Bear Mountain Bridge exit ( toll).

At end of bridge make a right, follow the road down to the bottom. At the circle go one quarter way round, cross small bridge, make right onto Route 9 South at light. Follow Route 9 South to left exit for Route 9A, follow Route 9A to exit for 117 Pleasantville. make left at light. Left onto Pleasantville road, make right onto Saw Mill River Parkway south. Follow Saw Mill to Bronx River Pkwy South to Route 22 (Kenisco Dam). Left at dam, continue to route 22 South...(the rest takes you to Greg's house in White Plains)....

That route that Greg P came up with was impeccable other than the traffic. We should do that... how about next week end so there's no short notice? My cars having a couple problems anyways and I need a day or two to sort it out.

Well let's do this in the future sometime. Guess it was too short notice, and F1 is on. Maybe in a weekend or two. Sorry for getting peoples hopes up. Blame BM. Just joking!

Something different: what we also could do is do a drive to Six Flags in NJ, do rollercoasting over there and then a drive back.
My wife and I plan to go to SF next weekend or the weekend thereafter.

Yeah it's racing season. The population of Saratoga about doubles I think. If you need a place to crash we've got a few extra couches. What were you doing in Amsterdam?
