Central Florida Road Course (Video)

Home
Here's the Skinny, I had a Blast It was opening day and the fact I could drive there in under 15 minutes from my front door was something I have never experienced and to say I am excited about this track would be an understatement. The possibility of opening up to a larger venue makes it even more appealing to those of us who are used to large tracks like Sebring, Homestead etc... I don't know how long the course is in it's current configuration but this course will make you a better driver and fill your need to be one with your machine.
I heard there is going to be Karting as well as different types of events so I will be keeping an eye on this place.
I put together a clip of me chasing a couple of Factory Five's around.
Nick

Thanks for sharing, Nick! Now I just gotta get my happy a$$ another Elise and I'll join ya! I don't think I'd really have much fun throwing my 335i around there. Although, my girlfriend has a Corvette...

You are lucky. I wish I have a track 15 mins from my house. But I guess I can't complain. There are so many new tracks in the NorthEast now

YEAAAAH! a track in O-town!!!!! Thanks for the vid Nick, it's even better in high def...
I like the sound of the supercharger even better than Tool! Makes the Lotus sound exotic.

I would have been there but I had a 2 day stunt driving course last weekend.
(Seriously but no, not with the Lotus.)

When is the next track orientation day?

John, I love the fact that you knew that was TOOL - You rock for that
This track is great for our cars - It really is an equalizer and it was fun beating up on 500 hp cars

Mike - Your good to go now - There was a bone stock Elise there which I drove and it kicked ass! With all that Carbon Fiber you should be good for another 50 HP

I live within spitting distance of Sears Point (aka Infineon Raceway)...although I haven't gained the guts or skills to be able to do track days there yet.

So, Nick, would it be worthwhile to bring my 'mostly' unmodded 335i with the stock Bridgestone RE050A RFTs? I mean, you know I'm spoiled having had an Elise and that was the only car I've ever tracked. This car is faster than my Elise in a straight line, but that's it - plus, it has no soul (you know what I mean ). It has too much body roll (I have the Sport pack and I have been getting used to it, but it's not as flat as I would like) and generally has problems putting down the power in 1st unless on a grippy surface. I think that some suspension mods and grippier tires would help quite a bit; but, I don't plan on keeping this but a couple of years. Still, your input would mean a lot to me.

Damn, now that I read that I definitely sound like a spoiled brat!!! So, are helmets required? I'll try to talk my girlfriend into taking her Corvette, but considering that I couldn't get her to smoke the tires in front of my cousin's house I'd say that's probably a losing proposition. I'll work on her!
