My guess is that there only about 7 to 10 owners of Elises or Exiges in the state, and about 5 0r 6 who are active on this board. I just purchased my Elise in March from Hollywood to Central Wisconsin.
As you can see, prices for good used cars are very reasonable. I wouldn't limit myself to the Wisconsin area to get what I wanted. Even with shipping costs, it is still a good "value" if you find the right Lotus. By scanning the L.T. Lotus Cars For Sale subforum you get the best possible variety and the opportunity to learn about the previous owner. With due diligence and lots of detailed photos I was able to safely buy my car without ever traveling to California. I hope you're successful too. Good luck. |

Yes, there just aren't that many of us here in WI with a Lotus, much less those who want to sell theirs. Keep an eye on the FVMC website and contact T.J. (twaszak1 here on LT) if you see something interesting. JWA just bought his Elise from them this way and it worked out well.

I picked mine up in TN & had the best drive of my life back to SD. Don't settle for something just because it's convenient. Get a plane ticket & spend some quality time with your new ride.
Note: make sure you blue tape the hell out of it before driving across states. Rock chips are the devil! |

thats what I figured!
Been thinking about it for like 3 years now, just haven't pulled the trigger! Have a Honda s2000 that I've owned for nearly 5 years, and have been strongly thinking about going to either a Cayman S or an Elise. Anyone able to show off their elise this week? |

Many thanks Tpup/Roy! I think the girlfriend is just going to have to learn to love it! Greatly appreciated the drive- Think I would like to experience an Elise as well, as the open top is still important, right now. However, the 240hp is intoxicating! Could be a little jaded now! |
