Chicago Accident

Saw a CO this morning that hit the median at Ashland/Wabansia in Chicago. Car was not in good shape.

Anyone here?

Hope the driver/passenger are OK.

Some are worried that human beings may have been seriously hurt, and yet, others thought this was a good time to play politics.

I agree, I hope everyone is OK.

Since the human beings have not even been identified, some are unsure or whether or not they should care and therefore played politics.

That is the one. As I said - car was not in good shape. This is 1/2 block from my house and I saw it at about 6:45am.

Where'd you find the picture?

Apparently I am the only one that thought the joke was tasteless, so perhaps I am wrong. We now return you to your normal programming.

Yikes! Don't you just hate it when concrete walls pop up in front of you like that?

Hope everyone involved is OK.

Ouch. Another one bites the dust. I'm guessing not too serious injuries if any, otherwise that vehicle would have been towed.

I've seen him driving around the Edgewater neighborhood. I think it was just purchased this spring.

Im trying to piece that together in my mind. It looks like a straight with a divider. I wonder what happened.

Ashland is a major north/south "residential" road in Chicago. It is four lanes (two in each direction), but has stop lights probably every 3-5 blocks on average. Speed limit is posted at 30mph, I believe.

Given the time of morning the road was probably very clear so I'm thinking speed was a factor. I'll look tonight to see if there were any signs of braking/skidding, but it appeared he/she drove straight into the concrete planter which is in the median.

I hope the driver (and passenger if any) are okay. That's the most important thing. But poor taste can be funny anyway.
