Techdiving is more fun. The "nice" wrecks are always deeper than the 130ft that is considered recreational.

I am a certified tech diver, Advanced nitrox, decompression procedures and trimix. I did a few dives in lake Superior this week, 39 degrees

I have a rivet gun if you need one.

If we ever meet, I would be happy to help you move yours. It's straight forward and doesn't take much time.

Well, I did my first cold water dive up in Crosby, at the Crosby mines. I wore a full 7mm suit, a 5mm vest with hood, 6mm gloves, and 5mm boots. I still managed to freeze below 40ft. I bought a dry suit this week, so freezing should be a thing of the past.

I've decided to learn tech diving (deep depths, decompression diving, multi-gas use (pure oxygen....helium....). Lots and lots of math/science involved. I wish I had paid attention in school during my younger years.

I'm looking at going to Turks & Caicos in September.

My friend, we need to talk. I've been hitting nothing but brick walls since trying to get into tech.

I just bought a dry suit (Whites), undergarments...
I couldn't find anyone willing to help me with a BP/W, so I bought a Sea Elite EBS AL plate, DiveRite Transplate harness, DR cam straps......not sure how I plan to wear weights (pockets, on the cams, belt, combo of each...).

I have a dry suit class this Thursday and plan on diving for the rest of the year perfecting my buoyancy and procedures. Then, after memorizing the text books, I'll take advanced nitrox/deco.

Several of the shops around here are of no help. I finally gave up and decided that I will just have to learn things on my own. (yes, I'm frustrated).

I'm new to the forum, and from MN

Just got a 2005 elise! Not many Lotus cars around in the Twin Cities.

Beeswing,

How many isn't many? There are 88 subscribers to loon-mn, the YahooGroups mailing list for Lotus Owners Oftha North (LOON). Then there's a good number of non-member Lotus owners subscribed here. Not to mention the non-aligned free-agents. Being a Lotus owner puts you in a rather exclusive group, but not isolated.

Tim Engel

Well, I just mean not that many that I've personally seen riding around in the Twin Cities. But it's good to know there's a robust number of MN owners.

later,
Beeswing

Here in Wisconsin we've had a drought for about two months. The only way to make it rain is to plan a trip in the Lotus. Works every time!

I may be a pansie, but the most recent reports of the cars & coffee have frightened me off. It's not the driving antics, but the size of the crowds and number of cars.

I'm just concerned about my mistress being scratched (or worse). Might be unfounded, but......

Not much to worry about for scratches

I'm just concerned about my mistress being scratched (or worse). Might be unfounded, but......

I have found that most of the people walking around and looking at the cars are very respectful of other peoples vehicles. I don't think that would be my greatest concern.

Cars & Cafe' is a gathering of car folk… an insider clique. The people who attend all care about their cars and understand the concept of, "Look, but don't touch". While the general public is not excluded, the event is not widely advertised to the public and not broadly attended by non-participants. Your car will be more safe there than in most public places outside your own garage.

Come to one. Give it a shot.

Regards,
Tim Engel

Ya, knowone touches the cars. I think the only issues are leaving a trail when they leave the joint.... beware of cops!!! We wouldn't wanna ruin a cool thing. the cops are everywhere and they know of the event.
