AutoX event in Wilmington, NC!!!
I just found out about this today. It's being held by the SCCA NC region. One day event! $25 for members and $35 for non members on Sunday the 25th of Oct. All the details are laid out in the link provided below.
NCR-SCCA Return to BlackWater Auto-X I hope people can make it out. I'm trying to see if I can get my friend with a corvette and another friend with a Mustang 427R will go. Hope to see YOU there! Eric

A few questions re: this event....
1. It said they cancelled their novice instruction, will they still allow complete novices? 2. How large is this event going to be? What time do we expect it to end? 3. Will we be able to run any free practice laps after the event? A friend and I are thinking about making the drive, but it's 5 hours and neither of us have done an auto-cross before. |

1. Novices should be able to compete. I don't see why you wouldn't be able too.
2. 915 is show time I think and the first car launches at 945? I would expect the event to end about 4 or 5 ish. Size of people I think will be about 20-30 cars? Just a gestimate. 3. I'm not sure about practice laps because I'm sure they will pack up the cones and what not and there will probably some kind of regulations not allowing people to autox without proper authority. I have never autoxd either. Pretty excited. I'll be in raliegh this weekend but will make it out there on Sunday. Definately think about going. It'll only improve your driving skills. And if you mess up you won't damage your car terribly. Maybe some scuff marks from the cones but that's it. If you mess up on the road, who knows what will happen right? It'll be fun and people that go usually give good advice on driving. You'll definately learn something.
