Huh? Really??? At shows I usually either don't put the placcard in the windshield, or obstruct the car number. This time I just tossed it on the dash board. Somehow doesn't feel right when a modern car 'wins' one of these.

Obviously, I left early, so this is news to me. Personally, the Cortina and the two Elans were my 1-2-3, with the Essex Turbo Esprit not too far behind.

Hey!
Sorry we missed you. (But great to meet you, Tim)

Yeah, some joker actually took a sharp knife to my hood. The Starshield is cut and an area above it. Heading to Wagon Works this week to let them do an estimate for my on fixing it. Then I get to hunt down the person who did it. Already did a Police Report, but doubtful they will find out anything. I think the key is to bribe the small children living in my neighborhood with rides and ice cream sandwiches (not at the same time) and see if one of them knows an older kid who caused the damage.

It was a cool show though and a nice day to be out.

I have been a long time lurker but never posted. I have gotten tons of information from this site. I have been in love with the Elise and have been dreaming about it, but honestly didn't know if I fit (I am 6'-2"). Special thanks to Tim for letting me try his on for size; now I know that I do fit! And I look good in chrome orange!
Bob and Mike in Alexandria, I feel like I know you from reading your posts. I saw your beautiful cars, but didn't get to meet you guys.
Mike, did someone key your front fender? Sorry, that is a horrendous experience. Even with that, your car is stunning.
Hopefully I will be a fellow Elise owner one day--I just need to convince my wife!

What a beautiful day. The 1/2 lane gravel raod with the fox hunters was funny. The 67 Marcos was my car of the day. Also liked the old Range Rovers. Who has the blue Elise?

That Marcos is something. It's shown up about a half dozen times this summer at the Holy Donut.

MG Club Thanks Lotus Attendees

I almost forgot - during the awards ceremony at the MG Club's Hunt Country Classic, the presenter gave a special thanks to the Lotus folks who showed up. He said the club had wanted more participation from Lotus owners, but had just a few Lotus show up in previous years. He said the MG club really appreciated the great turnout of Lotus at this year's show, and hopes that we continue such a large turnout of our beautiful cars.

This is a great show, and a very nice venue, with some great driving roads there & back. My favorite local show.

It was a fun day. The show made a convert of one of my friends. She now wants an Austin Healy 3000...

Tell her to keep an eye on Barrett-Jackson...I saw one go last week (sure it was a rerun) for $100K.

That's not REALLY the market for these, but selling prices for nice examples have truly gotten crazy. Easily $50K plus.

BTW, received the 3rd place in class award in the mail yesterday, nice etched glass 'trophy.'

Still surprised by it.

LOL. She is looking for work. Only way she'll get a classic sports car is if she marrys a friendly car guy who has one and wants her to have it! That might happen someday.
