Here is the (non)Official Lotus Elise Registry
This is a registry (information about your Elise) and a questionaire to help answer some questions about where in the process things changes on our cars. You must answer the ones with *, you do not have to answer the ones without the *. Don't answer if you aren't 100% certain! The first page is factory options and VIN info. The second page is date information. The third page is factory changes that you may or may not have. The fourth (and last) page is for mods. You can't go back and make changes, but you can answer more than once with the same VIN (just let me know which one is wrong and I'll remove the bad record). I can't add questions easily, so this will be it for now. Maybe later we can come up with more questions and have an add-on survey. I am working on making the results public accessible, but for now just fill out the survey! Edit: Changed the survey link after making changes. Edit: Here is a link to the results, and some statistics: http://www.ccandcs.com/survey/public/registry.html Here is a link to the excel file: http://www.ccandcs.com/survey/public/elise_registry.xls Last edited by cranium : 05-15-2005 at 09:29 PM. |

I think the most important thing right now is posting ways to find these things out. I have no idea what "horizontal/circular gas-cap finish" looks like, much less "dimples for diffuser bolts to cross member" and I have no idea how to tell if I have a wiring harness for the running lights.
Also, don't all early cars have dual oil coolers? I don't think the sports package has anything to do with that question. I could be wrong though. All in all, this is a great! Thanks for the effort. |

Actually, I think all the sport pack cars are supposed to have two coolers. It is the non sportpack cars that eventually do not have the second cooler.

Yeah, I have a couple errors in it. I just remembered I did not ask what color you got either...doh. I just fixed it up, please retake it if you just took it a second ago.

Make sure the gas cap finish question refers to the fuel door. That will make it a bit less confusing. I suppose that color should go on there too. Maybe also some (optional) information about the owner. Name, location, etc.
Thanks for putting a registry together. I was hoping there'd be one. Someday a webpage listing the cars. Also a note for the cars that have met a bitter end (Snuffy for instance).

I think the list of options for non US elises is probably a little too extensive,
Theres Elise Elise S Elise 111S Elise 111R Exige, Options along the way have been Touring Package (carpets Pwr Windows etc) Race Tech Package (upgraded brakes, vinyl floors) Sports Package (unsure) Wheels have differed from 6 spokers to the Arachna type ones (black chrome, anodized or silver), to the Sports ones. stereo options have been many and varied i was just having a bit of a go, but im happy to go on the registry if you want me on it :-)

I understand everything except the "dimples" questions. Could someone please enlighten me? I looked at mine (VIN 2473) and there are depressions at the forward edge of the diffuser (near the engine undertray) where some bolts are. Is that what is meant?
I would still like to see the build dates on the survey. I have a feeling that the VINs are not built in date order. |

Port of importation
If you have kept your sales sticker, entry port is the first item on it, upper left corner.

43 responses....keep them coming. I'll do some analysis on it after 50 responses or so. Quick stats...83% touring package, about 50% sport, 58% hardtop. Somewhere between 755-922 they went to all Acapulco radios, between 1138-1258 was the radio plug, between 448-535 was the wiring for the driving lights. We'll wait till we get a lot more respondents before assuming we have some good data.
