Here is the results, some statistics and the Excel file:
http://www.ccandcs.com/survey/public/registry.html

I have to do it by hand, so it is not dynamically updated. I highlighted some "errors" that may be there. Have fun.

Mine isn't on there. I'm guessing it is because I filled out the first version and you didn't keep those results. I'll redo it shortly.

Seems to be confusion on the gas lid type.

Can you post pictures of the two kinds?

Jack, thanks for starting this; you have done a great job. There is one element of the structure of your questionnaire that will be misleading if anyone wants to use it to analyze time sequences in the ordering, shipping, delivery process.

Those of us who ordered a car, but were going to be caught up in the MSRP increase, who opted to take a car at the old MSRP that was passed, will show an artificially reduced order to delivery time. I suggest you capture this factor on the questionnaire with a question that asks whether a switch was made to a car in production earlier than the one ordered.

I'd also be interested to know whether you plan to maintain the registry as a permanent, official record and, if so, how? It would also be nice if you could indicate how the information will be used: made available to vendors, secured if personal information is collected, entrusted to a club or other organization to preserve it when individuals more on, etc.?

I noticed that some of the data and dates I filled in on the survey did not make the spreadsheet - WTF? Any way to revise?

Fill it out again with the same VIN and I'll take the most recent one when I publish the results.

I was hoping not to add anything to the registry that would be deemed private. The plan is to keep it growing in the future with a few more questions and possibly link the results to a dynamic results file. Anyone with internet access can read it, so if there is a question you don't want someone like a vendor to know, don't answer it!

If you are reffering to "Los Angeles" that is the radio model. I don't think I asked the question of entry port.

The 1st number (13) is clearly in error. Date received 5/1/05? I applaud your efforts, though. This will be neat once completed.

Also, after looking again, #33 (mine) has aftermarket rims in addition to the stock ones, and I painted the center console BRP to match (PAintmod)

Registry

Dealer ordered Starshield w/o premission and we negotiated that. Car came in exactly as I had ordered but included Hard Top. At that time I could not get a vin or delivery date so I would have been looking at a $2K increase at least., and a car within the week. The math was easy. Turns out car looks very nice with Hard Top and I and glad to have gotten it.

Hearing funny noises from right section that come off to rmove roof. will take rof off this week after wash/wax and see what's up. Anyone else?

When I got the car it had the hardtop on it but some of the screws that hold the hardtop in place were loose and the brackets were rattling at every bump. I have since taken them/it off. I don't expect to use the hardtop much but it is probably something that one should check periodically when using it.

Hey Cranium,

I could knock out a web form that tabulates this info automatically and is immediately viewable for you if you'd like. I could even host it if need be, and we could import the entries that are already entered in your excel sheet. It's just a shame to waste the time to manually enter all of this info when it's so relatively easy to automate.

The 'date received' is kinda misleading in my case since I got my car used. So, VIN 38 probably showed up earlier than late september but I put 9/21 cause that's when it was delivered to me, the 2nd owner. *shrug*

Is it too late to add a field for "Build Date" - it's on the sticker in the door jamb. It is probably more meaningful than the delivered date for determining changes .vs. time. For instance, mine was built in June, but wasn't delivered until August...

I would still like to see the build dates on the survey. I have a feeling that the VINs are not built in date order.
Ditto on both of these!
Build date would be a lot more intersting than date arrived in port!
As for "dimples" if ya don't understand the question, how can ya answer?
