Two types of racing greens too.
One is probably metallic

I'm surprised they didnt bring over the silver/blue metallic color that is available on the UK cars.

Perhaps someone at Lotus goofed and mixed up drums of ardent red with bordeux and they created a new red color!

Now if we could only get the leather trim in colors we want too.

What have they done to my GG? Does it have less blue in it? More pearl? Must know now!

For the record, I ilke the orangey in our yellow. Solar yellow looks very Ferrari 355 yellow. Meh - I'm biased.

I do like the SY better at night, or even in the shade. But I'm liking the CO less and less in the sun (sorry Corvus!).

Count me as liking SY too (biased of course)

I like the orange content.

For comparison, have you seen a 2nd generation MR2 in Solar Yellow? I had one briefly in 1991 and thought the color was cool. Glad I got rid of it for a Steel Gray Mist (silver) MR2 because the yellow one looks quite hideous to me nowadays! It looks like a lemon.

I'd rather have a yellow with orange (SY) than a yellow with green (solar)

autumn gold = puke!

If this is polar blue then it is my new favorite color.
Anyone know where I can find high res pictures of polar blue? Need a new wallpaper now.

The "modified" colors are only slightly changed and can only really be told apart when next to eachother, and even then it would be tough. The modification is really in the chemistry of the paint in order to ease the manufacturing process for some of the coors which are harder to keep consistancy.

Kudos to Lotus for offering us so many options regarding color and I would expect that we may soon see more options in other areas of the accessory and option lists.

Presumably you're refering to Polar Blue, which is on the list and is pictured a few posts up.

Looks that way. The first time I saw it, I thought that the Saffron was too orangy. But it didn't take me long to get into it. I think my car looks fantastic. The Solar might be what I originally had in mind, but I don't have any regrets. Kind of cool that Saffron won't be quite as common.

AAAaaggghhh, and all I ever wanted was a non-metallic green and I finally broke down two weeks ago and bought a metallic green anyway since I figured it would never be an option and now here it is as a cost-free color.

Life is so unfair

red red and red can you say red?

Comments...

Harvest gold??? I didn't like it on an appliance, I certainly wouldn't like it on an Elise... go figure. It looks like someone soiled the krypton. *Krapt on* hehe...

And I do not get this.

Talking

Probably a good thing that I don't pick colors for Lotus. My new selections would be Passion coral and Scarab green...

Yeah but zOOmz, you finally have your Polar Blue!

I'm intrigued with all of the color changes and upcoming interior option changes. Heck, I still haven't seen all of the '05 colors yet! C'mon, where are all the Socal purple, krypton, bronze, and nightfall blue Elise's hiding?

Now, I read somewhere that it's hard to reproduce purples in an RGB colorspace like a computer monitor, but the Aubergine color patch just looks dead grey to me.

Polar Blue good. I like white too, but why does it cost $1200 extra?

just a way for Lotus to make some money! You can't tell me the lifestyle colors cost much more or are more involving in their application.

fees, shorty, fees!

I would have jumped on the no-cost BRG. I think Canyon Red is going to look good too. I wish they'd have discontinued Magnetic Blue. I ordered it, then saw that tons of people were getting it. I won't be able to find my car in a parking lot at Elise gatherings!

"ou can't tell me the lifestyle colors cost much more or are more involving in their application",

perhaps not all, but some definately. For example my car is Lightning yellow which was a "lifestyle colour" (Metalic yellow with a Gold Pearl), however despite its popularity, Lotus just couldnt get it right all the time, and spent allot of time trying to get cars looking good. From my understanding is that they had many cars that were painted several times at the factory before leaving, just to look perfectly matched. Ive been to a friend who is a Spray Painter, and he said it is an extremely hard colour to get looking right, so sometimes there is a cost involved.

For the record, I beleive Lotus found this too hard to keep up with (ie: cost them too much) so they then offered Safron Yellow.

I personally think LY is the $#!t, the only colour i can really liken it too is the Metalic Yellow on the Lambo, crossed with the yellow on the RX8, it takes on so many different appearances photos never come out the same

Why don't you get the blue under-car neon kit for your car then? That'll help during the night at least. Sure to be unique!

I figure that if I wait long enough mine will be the only one left stock.
