Possibly looking to purchase but have questions
Hello all,
I may be in the market for an elise but had some questions. Can this car be driven in the rain, I have read online that with the trunk/motor exposed it can get wet in there. Can this car be left outside or does it need to be covered during a rain/snow storm? When washing the car, do you have to put a towel over the trunk/motor so it does not get wet? Does anyone use it as an everyday car? What would be a price to pay for an 05 with 10k miles? Black on Black How reliable are these cars? What are some issues to look at in the 2005 elises? Does the 05 come with traction control? Can HIDs be installed? Thanks, Bobby |

Questions questions.. and as mentioned, most have been answered before, so do a bunch of searching and you'll see dozens of threads answering such questions and more.
But yes, people very reliably drive their Elise's daily, in the rain, wash them carefully parked downhill to avoid water in the engine/trunk, and install HID's in them. Expect to pay at least ~$30-32.5k++ for an 05 with 10k miles. - add a few more grand if includes sport pack and/or hardtop and other aftermarket options. 05's don't have traction control. And things to look for/consider in an 05 is how much might be left on the warranty, and to be sure that all the necessary warranty fixes have been performed. (new shifter, ECU update, headlamp fix, other little things) good luck
