April 1st threads and previous thread

First, a note. Please do not post any threads that are going to piss off Lotus. Not naming any names coughtransiocough.

Secondly, there was a thread that was posted here and that has been removed at the request of Lotus. This was the thread by Michael (Sandsmuseum) and he regrets any negative impact this caused Lotus or the community.

I'm glad it is gone. It was like seeing your Christmas present a few days early. As a kid I'd rummage around the house searching for my presents. Every year I'd find some and every year I'd regret finding them.

I thought the Lotus ######## was a great thread! Anyone taking that seriously should not be out unsupervised. Damn, April 1st will be no fun here this year.

It is not a matter of taking it seriously. I believe the problem was taking it seriously too soon.

That factory burning down business a couple of years ago was outrageously funny, especially because so many bought into it. Is that thread still here somewhere?

EDIT: I found the remains of the thread, but the meat was almost immediately extracted. Pity, because that was a fantastic scam carefully laid out by Transio.

However, look at it from the other perspective. Yeah it was a hoot, it showed the power of internet and word of post. But it made Lotus give a press conference to deal with it. At that point it became a liability and it cost man hours and money.
Any of us wether office professional or buisness owners would have felt put off and frustrated at having to expend resources and time to deal with a joke that had become serious.

I can't comment on the thread removed as I haven't followed it, but it gives me great pleasure to read that Lotus actually signs in and follows the postings on this Bullitin Board and is aware of the impact of posts.

I guess a lot of people are newer. Lotus execs and people read this forum everyday. Both in USA and UK. I am certain they don't read all the posts. But certain ones are read.

Problems are noted. People taking various measures as posted in the forum, has been commented on to me by Lotus engineers. And solutions have been reached.

The problem is obviously yours. You just have to move to a place that stays
between 85 and 50 degrees. The current unit works fine then.

Ha! So true, although one of them will belong to someone else soon-Vin #33, which has been a spectacular car. I think I've have more piddly issues with the new one in 7 weeks than I did in 20 months with the old one.

Randy you are no fun. I was all set to break the story about the new collaborative project between Jay, Forcedfed and Ragnorak on a turbocharged/supercharged elise, with the first order already placed by some guy named ronin.....
