Lotus, if you see this, MAKE THE ELECTRIC WINDOWS STANDARD AND MOVE THE SWITCHES TO CENTER CONSOLE!

Don't listen to him. I like my manual windows. A simple and beautiful crank is closer to Chapman's philosophy.

I'm with Mick -- manual cranks are far superior to the electric lifts, which are just failures waiting to happen. But then, many have referred to me as a simple crank -- but not necessarily beautiful.
And regarding relocating the switches for the windows to the console, you'd think that things would start getting a bit crowded down there, what with the T/C button, the hazard switch, the door lock switch, .....

Works great in Houston. We'll see about August.

I heard Nick Adams speak last night, and to me, the most important thing he said was, "We listen to our customers, and then ignore them and go off and do what we want to."

Now, I'm one who wants an LSD and if they really ignored their customers we wouldn't have one available from Lotus, so I know it was a bit of hyperbole. However, I am always more interested in products that have a good dose of vision in them, rather than products that are the result of customer surveys.

So, stay on course...even if it means disappointing me now-and-again on some bit for the car, I believe the car is as brilliant as it is due to the general principle of not paying too much attention to customer desires.

Oh, and you folks would all have enjoyed the disdain with which Nick said the word 'cupholders'.

I would hate having the switches on the center console.

I want the switches moved three inches rearward.

Seriously, the cabin is so small, what difference does it make.

I do admit that the lock switch in non-intuitive, but I never use it.

I don't use it either, but to me its perfectly intuitive. If you flip it to the passengar side, it locks. If you flip it to the drivers side it unlocks. Considering my girlfriend is always locking the darned thing, and I'm always unlocking it when I find myself locked in, I can't imagine what makes more sense.

Mine has been rotated 90 degrees, so it is up for unlock... Thanks Don

It was very intuitive to me. I thought it was just a normal button and not a toggle switch for the longest time. It wasn't until the So Cal guys told me at the dinner before the autox that I found out what it did.

Before then I'd constantly push the button and nothing would happen. And it would go down too. I'd do it while driving, while parked, nothing.

You're all wasting time here. We've been able to determine that the only threads Lotus execs read are 'This & That', 'Three-word Story' & 'Hijack This Thread'.

He made mine up for lock. Damn you Don! (shaking fists at the sky)

Just kidding, mine is up for unlock as well - but it would have been a funny joke Don - maybe for Alan next time he spins his POS.

I had a remote for my garage door that i velcroed into the small section of the aluminum storage cubby tray that was to the left of the steering wheel, but then the battery on the remote died. I noticed that the remote used a 12 volt battery about half the size of a AAA sized battery so I hardwired it into my 12 volt outlet and velcroed it to the top rear section of the center console.

It is much easier to just put my hand down about an inch behind where the seatbelt release is and hit the button, plus the range is increased since the car battery doesnt gradually wear out like the little replacement battery does

It would make more sense to put the door lock switch around that area too, this way you dont have to reach up and over the gear shift to hit the button.

I can see Lotus reading this now saying, those damn Americans are too lazy to move their hands an extra inch in order to hit the remote!
