Badass Lotus Sunbeam

Lotus Sunbeam (whatever that is) aggressively chasing an exige on track.

That's because they're pretty much one in the same (except mechanically and the extra set of doors)

Hmm. Doesn't really scream "get out of my way". But I would in this case.

And swapping which wheels did the driving.

Wasn't there a Sunbeam of some sorts that was like a Miata with the then current Mustang V8? I want to say like a 60's or maybe 70's car.

Sunbeam Alpine and Sunbeam Tiger from the 60's

There was a 4-cylinder Sunbeam Alpine from the 60s.

http://www.stoa-tigerclub.com/

Maxwell Smart (Get Smart) drove one during the into to the TV series. Cool little convertible, not a real big performer. Sunbeam dropped in a ford 260CI (later 289CI) ala Shelby and it became the Tiger (poor man's cobra sort of thing). I'm sure there were lots of other updates other than just the V8 (new front coil springs at least!). I'm sure some other people will chime in with the details.

Very cool to see them growling around even today. Among the best autocrossers of the 60's along with the Elan and Datsun 2000. Different styles but all effective depending on the course.
