I'm a fan and also the thorney package for the europa is great too. I think I'm one of the few who likes the looks of the new Europa for what it is.

Looks the same size as an Elise. I thought it was supposed to be bigger?... Like a GT.

I was also under the impression that it was larger. Since it's the same size, then what's the point of this car? Is it simply a softer, less focused Lotus to appeal to a broader audience?

I thought it was a few inches longer than the Elise.

Nope it is a slightly different chassis, lower sill and different rear subframe.

It's road test is the UK were, shall we say, less than complimentary, they seemed to think you'd be better of buying the hot hatch (Ford Focus/Golf GTi/Peugeot 205) as they all handle as well, or better and are much more usable all round cars.

I spoke with Max at Richburg Lotus and he said that the chassis are the same as Elise, trimmed the door sill lower, and were not using Toyota engine (don’t recall which motor) but with turbo-charged.

Seems to have the same interior upgrades as the Lotus Elise California... but with more weight. (Slower) Not sure I get the concept.

Max in HK told me that the Europa power has been upped to 225HP and it is very good now.

Did you see the interior on the black one? It is very nice.

So Lotus is equipping the Europa with Bridgestones? That's interesting. Does anyone know what the sizes are? Is Lotus keeping Yokos for the Elise and Exige or switching over?

I would think it is a cheaper, more comfortable, and less noisy tyre for the Europa type customer.
