They can say all they want, but I don't think they're going to do much to bring Elite prices down... clearly their objective so they can buy one. At least, that'd be my objective if I was writing this...
I love the Type 14... One of the most beautiful cars ever built.

I've driven this Elite (1960 IIRC)

Also driven the Seven, the Europa, the Elan M100, The 89 Esprit, and his new Elan Coupe S2...

I thought it was pretty cool. Cockpit seemed almost modern with the wraparound dash, though the huge thing wood steering wheel gave it away.

Is it me, or does Colin Chapman get treated by the media like Ron Paul?

Lotus Elite, a very pretty car. When you are a bold innovator like Colin Chapman, you take chances and have failures so that you can get to the cutting edge successes.

PS. Nice parallel between Chapman and Ron Paul. Ron Paul is awesome.

I think it is the most beautiful sports car ever made. Period. Also a POS but, such a looker! I cried when they stopped making them (not to date myself). Even the "restored" ones often have doors that don't fit, hoods that are warped etc. Still. it is gorgeous, small, light, efficient-everything the typical modern sports car is not (Lotuses excluded, natch).
