Post Atlanta Area Lotus or Related Events

I thought we needed a thread that we can just keep adding to for listing and discussing Atlanta area events, just like our neighbors to the north in Charlotte.

This way anyone who subscribes will get an e-mail when something is posted of interest.

Now.... what's going on? Anyone up for Andrettis???

Thumbs up

Thanks, but I can't take credit, I stole the idea from the 'Charlotte Area', but it works well if all the active members subscribe, so pass the word...

I'm subscribed .......it is a good idea, we can give credit to the Charlotte Area for starting it and to Clyde for being motivated to adopt/start this for the ATL area

Panoz Track Day - Saturday Dec 2

Give yourself an early Christmas present. I signed up for the Dec 2nd Panoz track day. It would be fun to have a few more Elises out there. The link is www.panozracingschool.com

Chill,
Are you signed up for Sat & Sun, or just Sat?
The BMW School is a pretty good deal in comparison.

Bill,
I think you bought Chill's Storm TI ride from Lotus Atlanta...

Hey Barry!

I am only signed up for Saturday.. tough to carve out a whole weekend with all the recent travel (In Vegas now).

I figured the Panoz track day would be a good way to get familiar with the Panoz guys before I take the 3-day school in their cars in March.

...And you're right, Bill did buy my '05 from LOA

I don't see anywhere at their site that you can bring your own car. And I can't find a lapping day for 12/2. Is this something that was privately set up?

It would be nice if the track could be rented in the off season for a weekend or two for lapping days or work something out with Panoz for a 2 day "Lotus school". December and January track days are pretty scarce outside of Florida.

Nope 12/2 is just a regularly scheduled Track Day... Look under "Track Days", "Lapping Days" are only for the Panoz GTRA cars.

we had a nice Giovanni showing. all exotics except for a 1953 Mercedes 300 cabrio that showed up. the seller , a 1 family owner of the car from Brazil sold the car to a German fellow who was here picking up the car to take back to Germany. he was a nice guy. very broken english. I felt like I was being interviewed by the SS while I was standing next to that big old German car. it looked like something the SS would have driven.

it was a nice car.

we had 30-35 cars which is great considering 2 years ago we only had 4.

the Giovanni event has really taken off and is becoming the best monthly exotic sports car event in the state of GA.

we had 3 Lotus cars. the rest were Ferrari, Porsche, Alfa, and Maserati.

a great time.

I managed to get some serious wheel spin from my Esprit when I left. I didnt even mean to but it grabbed some serious turbo boost and then suddenly the rear end wanted to pass the front ebd. it was fun.

Welcome Gary. So what did you get? What color and where about are you at? And show us pics of the Caddy!

My Elise was supposed to be finished up yesterday but I never heard back from them. Guess I'll get it back this week. (been in the body shop for a while now- at least a month and a half)

Is your Elise at Autoglo? I just bought my Elise from Dan at the beginning of Nov. Got rear ended yesterday. I spoke with Ted at Autoglo, where it is going, and he said he is just finishing up another Elise.
