Chill.

I just picked up my Elise last week and was thinking of instructing for BMWCCA at RA in July (if open) or September. I'm an old PCA guy and have instructed with BMW many times with a Porsche as my weapon of choice. Just curious as to what kind of times you are seeing in the Elise? I was running about 1:40 with an E-stock 944 Turbo (not really very stock).

Thanks,

Ben

Dragon Run this weekend!!!

I've got to put some break-in miles on my new Exige S, so I'm heading for the Dragon this weekend. Anyone wanna join me? (Frank?)

I'm open for either day. Which one traditionally has less traffic? I'm guessing Sunday.

OK, it's official. I'm making a Dragon run this Saturday. I'll be at the Waffle House at the top of 400 at 8 AM. I'll grab some breakfast and then head north. That should put me to the Dragon by 10:30 or so. I may have enough time to run the Cherohala also. Who's with me?

But Cherohala requires torque to make those long climbs...oh wait...you have torque! I'm in...wanna stop by for punch and pie (and more importantly) a clean bathroom?

Same here Mick, no can do Saturday, but would love to go Sunday.

Not to tempt you, but I'm also off Monday. Just think of those wonderful EMPTY roads...

Another idea: You go ahead Saturday and drive around leisurely for your break in. Spend the night at the Microtel, then the rest of us will meet you first thing Sunday morning for some runs before coming back home.

Then the following weekend we will go do the GA drive after the concours.

Unfortunately I have plans Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, so its gonna have to be Saturday for me.

A drive after the concourse is a great idea!

Ok. I might still go Monday. It's SO much nicer to be up there when it's empty. If anyone else wants in, send me a PM.

I can not make either day. When we went on Thursday the 7th we only saw a lot of motorcycles. It was empty of sports cars at least. Have fun guys. Adam.

Mick....One last Q...... What time would you have left WH to get there?

So on a side-note. Anyone bored on Sunday, I'm gonna be taking a drive up there, most likely following Mick's lead from his Saturday trip.......and probably doing the loop. (Looks like a good ride on their website map).

Mick....safe trip Saturday........thanks for the tips......

I just checked out killboy's website and read this:

Saturation Enforcement Friday

Heard today from Brad at the Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort that TNHP and Blount Co. will be out in force tomorrow with about 14+ cars and possibly the helicopter. Traffic from Honda Hoot has been pretty steady, although a bit slow today, but mostly very well-behaved.

Hopefully things won't be too busy up there.

Even if its busy I'm going up mostly for the break in miles. Besides, the Cherolaha will probably be pretty empty. But thanks for the heads up.

It's been too long since I've been to the dragon and I need to clean off my RA-1's for the track day next week. Mick, do you want to stop by my house or should we meet you on the road somewhere? I'm sure you won't be hard to find.

I'll stop by your house. That's probably easiest.

Sorry... dropped off the boards for a few days...

Of course, since it is a driving school without any timing allowed I can't say what I ran during the actual school ... but I typically run in the mid 1:40s on RA in the Elise ... driving it like I have to drive it back home... which I have to ...
I heard the school and instructors are waitlist for July, but you can check with them to see if that changed.
