Construction at Carolina Motorsports Park

Here are some photos of what they're doing to Turns 12, 13, and 14 at CMP:

When I pumped them they came back, so I went into the pits and bled them. They were fine after that.
I went through almost half the pad thickness throughout the whole day.

I need to replace the pads and flush the brakes lines this weekend!

My AD07 tires held up very well though.

Nice photos of CMP. I'm heading there tomorrow morning for an open practice day with my F500 before the double race this weekend. I'm really looking forward to it. I haven't run CMP before so it will be interesting learning the track on Friday.

Ahhhh I wondered if you were gonna be down there. I saw two F500 cars getting prep'd there yesterday (not on the track).

See the semi in the background, one came in that!!! I guess there are some big budgets!

CMP is a fun race track. You actually race there, as opposed to just parade around spread out like what happens at VIR sometimes.

The key turns, in descending order, at CMP are:

a. The Carousel (5/6/7) which leads to the longest straight complex on the track.

b. 8, which joins the two longest straights.

c. The new turn 12.

d. Turn 3.

You can get in trouble at turn 3, work up to speed slowly there. Turn 8, you can carry a lot more speed in there than you think.

Not sure what a good F500 time is there on the new circuit. We (leaders in ITS) were running 1:49-1:52s. You should probably be a bit quicker.

Stop by and see me (green TR8) if you get a free minute.

We had a large time. I'm going to have to get a Z06 to keep up with Oliver.

Chris, have fun with your new toy and be careful!
