NASHVILLE: $20 for ride in elise or exige! I must decide between 350ZTT or Lotus.

Hi guys, I'm in Nashville, TN, and I am currently in the process of buying my first home, but I have saved up additional funds and after that I am planning to do one of two things:

1. Spend $16k for 400whp on my 350z.
2. Sell the Z and buy an Elise, then later go FI for extra fun.

So I'm looking to get a ride in an elise or exige just to get an idea of what the car is like. I don't expect to drive your car, just ride as a passenger. I will pay you $20 to give me this ride. Thank you for helping me with my decision!

I'm in Nashville, but unfortunately my Elise is not. PM me and I'll see if we can arrange something.

I'm sure somebody would be happy to give you a free ride if they are close enough to you.

Personally I charge $3.99 per minute for passenger seat time. I figure that's the average rate for getting off over the telephone, and riding along with me in the passenger seat has about the same effect on people, so....

I'm in Bellevue, about 30 mins away from brentwood. The house I'm buying is near brentwood, actually - at Lenox Village. I'm really excited about it. A few weeks ago it was just a treehouse. haha... now I have painted walls.

What time on Friday is best for you?

Anyway, do you have any pics of your exige?

I will be hanging out at the British car show in Franklin on Saturday morning. I won't be showing the Elise but I will have it there and can let you have a ride.

Yeah man, some pics here...

Congrats on the house man. My wife and I have been looking but haven't found anything sub-$180k It's just not worth it at this point.

Anytime Friday is cool with me. We're short one designer that day, but I should still be able to take 30 minutes to go for a ride. The best thing would be for you to meet me at the end of my day.... probably around 4:30 or 5:00. Let me know if you're down. I'm typically reachable by mail, but I'll PM you all my info.

Once you ride in a Lotus, a 350z will be the last thing you want to hang on to. Don't say I didn't warn you

Sounds great, sir! I like how people on my350z.com are scolding me saying the lotus is super hard to get into... I LIKE THAT.. If I get one I'm going to love trying to figure out the fastest way in every time I get in... haha..

What color is your elise? I have shaggy red hair, by the way, and will be easy to point out. I'm printing mapquest directions right now.

Dude just keep it up with your business. You're doing a good job if you can afford an exige. Plus maybe you can wait a while longer and get in the right house for you, right before prices start going up again. I just didn't want to renew my lease again at wyndchase in bellevue.

Anyway, I'm sending you a reply via PM.

I would've asked how much you weigh before offering a ride

Took a co-worker to lunch yesterday and then found out that I overloaded the car since the manual says 441lbs limit for driver+passenger and I'm at about 210, and the dude was at least 250. Not a big deal of course, but still kinda funny.

I had a 350Z for a while - Elise is more of a driver's car, of course, and I enjoy the utter lack of amenities and comfort. I did like the Z exhaust note better, though. *ducks*

^ Wow. I'm surprised you could steer the car with both of you in there. I don't have enough elbow room with even much smaller passengers. Luckily all of the instructors at the DEs I have attended have been fairly light.

Put a stage 2 on your lotus...it will make it sound like an F1

It would be a better investment to go for the Lotus. Once you drop 14k into a 350z its gonna be gone. You pretty much lose that money when you sell or trade it.
The Lotus will holds its value better if you get a used one of course. But get ready to get beat a lot if you plan on street racing in it if you leave it stock

If you can't get a ride in a Lotus, just do the following:

Drive a John Deere Riding Lawnmower.

Then go drive a go-cart.

That will give an idea of the difference between the Z and the Lotus.

If there's one thing I learned about car communities, it's that my350z people don't know black from blue. They are an ignorant bunch of kiddies, IMO. I used to frequent there

They swore up and down that my Boxster was a slow, over-priced, girl's car and a poor man's car.

They mocked a guy for switching to a Mazdaspeed3 and he needed the utility for his family.

I suppose anything that isn't a 350Z is not holy enough

Welcome to a real car enthusiast forum

BTW, if I was near you, I'd let you drive my Elise.
