Nashville area service?
I am toying with the idea of buying an Elise. I love 'em. But I was curious if anybody knew of a good mechanic in the Nashville, TN area for non-warranty work on an Elise?

I had heard that Thoroughbred Motorcars had been a Lotus dealer years ago. I talked to their service department and they don't want to touch the cars.
![]() I get my BMW serviced downtown at AutoHaus. They have told me that they would be willing to work on the Lotus as long as they didn't have to deal with the ECU. I have been able to take care of all of the maintenance and upgrades by myself so far so I haven't taken them up on the offer. For tire mounting and balancing you can get good work done at Auto House in Antioch. They are a Tire Rack authorized installer and their work is top notch. For race alignment and corner balancing you should call Jerry Onks (615-218-2823).

Thoroughbred was never a dealer in Nashville. In the mid 70's there was a dealer I bought my first Lotus from called Auto World. I do all normal service myself but have used both Atlanta and Memphis for warranty work. No problems with either, just a long way to go! I purchased tires from Tire Rack and had them installed at Moody's in Franklin with no problems. I did remove each tire and replaced them myself, as I don't trust anyone around it with a jack...
I have found the Elise to be very reliable. Mine was delivered in June of 05 and I have about 11K miles with only necessary maintenance performed. It is good to see a few more owners in Nashville! We need to get together next spring. |

Treehouse Racing mostly deals with BMW track cars but does have some Lotus and Noble customers. No warranty work but they can handle basic maintenance repairs and mods.

That's great, I'll try to bring my car there for the 1k mile service. Was not looking forward to the drive to Atlanta.
