North Carolina Owners Group

Everyone in NC,
I would like to try and get a meeting going. I wold lieketo try it for the 23rd of June. I know everyone will probably not be able to make it but I would like to try and get enough people to meet so when can come up with a game plan.

So lets start this thing with where you would like to meet. I will make the arrangements but I want to figure out a good place. Of course, Raleigh is good for me.

The cut-off will be the 15th of June for choosing a location.

I'm at work that weekend. I'm in TN but attend car events in western NC with other car clubs.

Look forward to next time.

23rd of June

it all depends on what time and where??
I may have a prior commitment until 3 or 4 PM that day.
Sunday may be a better day.
Suggest give a few alternatives and see if one comes up most can accomidate in their schedules.
There cars in Sanford, Cameron and Maxton and more in Wilmington.

VIR in July instead of the 23rd

Why not combine this with the VIR event in July??
I believe it is the 25 & 26 of July.

How about a show of hands for mixing with the VIR event in July? That does sound like a good idea. I was trying to avoid the mixing so we could focus on one topic but if everyone is kewl with it we can mix it.

I would like to ask everyone intersted to forward to your friends who don't regularly look at Elise Talk.

Guys I must say, I am stoked to meet everyone.

I will add the our Meeting to the Elise Talk calendar for the VIR weekend.

What is the Nature of this VIR event? I have just been stood up my Turn One at CMP and am looking for another gig.

Apparently Lotus Group is working with a couple of dealers to do a VIR event. I am not sure of the exact specifics but will get more information

I have a decent base line site for Groups and was wondeirng in the interest of me having a NC Lotus User Groups web-site. It would be dedicated to NC Owners topics but would be acessable to all. Also, I would make sure it suppliments Elise Talk as well so that there would be no stepping on toes.

It also would give us a calendar for all sorts of Local NC events for auto-x, trips, and lessons.

Let me know if you guys think this is something that will be useful.

I could have it up this week.

Pleasure to have your interest. I am not sure how other user groups work but you are more than welcome to be a part of us.

Looking forward to hanging out.

I will be in Knoxville in a couple of weeks we should get together if that is close to you.

Rebel- I'm definately in on meeting up.... Saturday's are usually tough for me being that I work at a dealership.

We could also use Rush Hour Karting in Garner as a meeting venue and a fun activity. Will you be going to the Auto-X this Sunday in Winston?

NC Club

I would be up for either Raleigh, or Durham, e.g. Brier creek, South point, ...
VIR would also be great; but I agree if there are a lot of other folks, and activities it may be a challenge to get just the NC folks together.

Guys,
I will have the website up this weekend. It is working out ok. What I am hoping to do is to create the NC Group as a whole but still maintain regional or chapters for meetings and event schedules. My plan is to have regional chapters 4 of them.
1. Coastal - Wilmington, Outbanks, Morehead City
2. Eastern - Raleigh, Durham, Rocky Mount Greensboro.
3. Central - Charlotte Winston Salem
4. Western - Asheville and Eastern Tenessee.

The groups can meet so that way everyone can be involved and I or some better, your chioce, can coordinate all of the chapters meeting ideas and activities on the site.

Once or Twice a year we can have a full NC State Event that last a weekend. Really make it a blow out.

I am really trying to put some thought into this. The hardest thing I am finding is that since we have owners all over this state it will be hard for everyone to attend the meetings simply because of geography. I want to implement a system that will keep all involved, atleast those who want to be.

Let me know your thoughts on this idea.

Also, if I am getting to anal about this let me know. I tend to get caught in the details sometimes.

Stephen

June 23 works for me at this point.

BTW, I was surprised more of you weren't at VIR this weekend. I went Saturday and there was one other from Maryland in the paddock (it was probably the chase car).

I really appreciate your willingness and ability to organize this project. You are right, this state is quite spread out West to East. When I was in school in the Triangle, most folks seemed to think that Western NC was some other state. Many people down there could not even spell Asheville.
Anyway, I'm in.

We must have just missed each other.

I have been looking into hotels and places to meet in the area of VIR for the July Event and realized that 25 and 26 in a Wednesday and Thursday. Are you guys going to be ale to go foe this at this time? If not we might want to plan a meeting the Sunday before, the 22nd, and do our first NCLOG meeting.

Let me know what you think.
