FYI - It looks like the Carolina Lotus Owners Club should launch within the next week or so. Watch this space for details.

I also see Talon (Russ) is on Elise talk We have quite a few Lotus owners in the Carolina area which is great. We have a Carolinas section on www.lotusespritforum.com and we also apparently have a lot of Carolina Elise owners. Is it time for a Carolina Lotus club? Anybody interested?
Count me in if you get a Triad Lotus meet together. I grew up in Winston, still work there, but live in Kernersville now. I just bought my first Lotus, an Elise, and love it. I was active with the Carolinas Region Porsche Club for many years, sold out the Porsches and bought a couple Corvettes. I helped form Triad Corvette Club but all those guys want to do is show their cars. I bought the Lotus to find driving buddies again. Nothing like Carolina back roads!

Shoot me an email if anyone is up for a weekend ride or weekday lunch to kick tires and talk junk. garyb@triad.rr.com

And here it is! By no means to replace sites like this that have a wealth of information and huge user communities - really just for us locals to organize events.

I just registered. It will be nice to have a site to keep up with local events.

I am going to try and make it. There is also a Corvette event in Sevierville, TN that weekend which we are/were supposed to attend. I'd much rather be driving than looking at car parts!

I have a Black Exige and I would like to get in an event as well.
Hey red dog...do you sometimes hang out in the Crossroads area? I think I saw your car across the street from the Crossraods Ford place last week.

would you be interested in attending a Lotus of Durham High Performance Driving Event March 12th or 13th. I have a few slots available and if you are interested, its $275 per day per driver with lunch, dinner, then second day lunch included. email me at spencer@lotusofdurham.com or call me at the dealership 919-536-3000. Our joint event sponsor wont be able to make it, so L O D is still wanting to do it solo. I would love to see all types of Lotuses there and driving instructors are provided.

I'm headed to VIR Wednesday.

I need to pick up a helmet and possibly gloves/shoes. I haven't been able to track down a race apparel shop anywhere close to Raleigh. Does anyone know of one?

There's a CDOC store at VIR. I'm not sure about their hours though. You'd have to call and check. www.cdoc.com

Hope that helps. See ya on Weds.
