![]() Alright People! I admit I have slacked pretty hardcore as of late in the drive planning department, shame on me! It's Official!! November 22nd 2009 Lotus Group Drive! I'm changing the details a little bit and we are going to do Yarnell and onto Bagdad, AZ! A few of my buddies took this drive a few weeks ago and highly recommend it! Were going to meet at I-17 and Carefree highway on the Northwest Corner of that Intersection there is a Gas Station and a Krispy Kream Doughnut Shop there to fuel both gas tanks and stomachs ![]() Meeting time will be 9:00 AM Sharp with a 9:30 Departure time to follow, this should allow everyone time to get gas, check tire pressure etc... From there we will be heading to Bagdad, there is a Cafe in Bagdad for a lunch stop and as I am told plenty of great spots for pictures and relaxing points to catch up with everyone. We can come right back down the same way or hotshot it out to a main highway if everyone likes, it is right at 120 miles one-way from Carefree to Bagdad so a round trip shouldn't take up the whole day. Lets make this a big drive to start off the season of perfect driving weather in our beautiful state!! Feel free to PM me with suggestions or post up here or even go ahead and call me here at the store 480-922-6242. Lets get some more posts up here as well, I have talked to a number of clients that are coming as well that are driving a mixture of Porsche's and Ferrari's so this should be a great way to kick off the winter and enjoy our cars! ![]() Looking forward to getting everyone together again and seeing some new faces that have acquired some Lotus' over the summer. ![]() Alright Guys I finally have a list!! PM me if I forgot you. I'm definitely in!
As an aside...the valet at the W backed my car into something and it looks like it will need a fiberglass and new starshield so I'll come by tomorrow and have you check it out.

Just a note about running up Yarnell Hill. When I rented an Elise in July for an extented test drive DPS was running a timed speed trap on the hill. A marked unit was at the bottom of the hill. He would radio his three buddies at the top of the hill and if you made it up to fast they would get you at the top.
As a side note I am picking up my new to me 2006 Elise tomorrow from a long time LT member so maybe I'll make it. I'll PM if I can make it. Enjoy!

I've got too much work to do to the Lotus for it to make it. What a good idea though, that run is a blast.
I've organized more runs up that hill than I could possibly recall, the only way to have a great time is to either go very early or send a rabbit/scout ahead to clear the road for everyone. The advantage for the car that does this is they get to go down it (what a riot!) and back up again! Otherwise going as a group during normal hours you are at risk of having your day either ruined by a representative of the police state or ruined by driving 'slowly' up a perfectly excellent hill. Be careful on the run between Kirkland junction and Bagdad, if someone goes off or suffers something requiring services from a civilized region of the state, well, civilization is quite a distance from just about any spot on that road (yep, experience speaking). Also, if the return trip from Bagdad takes the short AZ97 road to US 93 be advised there are some pretty rough bits in the washes on that road and there's a decreasing radius right hander at the top of a hill as you approach the US 93 that has claimed 'many' cars (you don't want your day to go down with that experience as the highlight I assure you). http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/3...rvicesonsc.jpg http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/9...sincident4.jpg Luck to you all, this run promises to be a good time.
