I can't believe I didn't notice this thread until now.

I am available for the June 26 weekend for sure, and possibly the June 12th weekend as well.

Thanks for organizing this, Jon.

I've found the book with the routes, hope to post it soon.

Little America is pretty decent for the price, BEAT tour uses it every year.

We know the owner of the Marriott Springhill Suites and the Marriott Residence Inn here in Prescott. The Springhill is right downtown and the Residence is out of town towards Prescott Valley a few miles. The rate that they will give for either weekend at either hotel is $100/room. The web sites are:

Marriott SpringHill Suites, Historic Downtown Prescott Arizona

Marriott Residence Inn, Across From The Prescott Arizona Gateway Mall

I am waiting to hear back from some other places and will post as soon as I get the details.

How would June 13th work for everyone? My father will be in town that weekend and it would be fun to take him along as he's just getting back into interesting cars after a thirty year break.

Either weekend would work for me.....I will leave it up to the group to decide.

Another hotel got back to me but they won't offer a group discount. It is a pretty cool little place that was just refurbished in town. Here is the link to take a look in case anyone is interested. Prescott Arizona Motels | The Motor Lodge | Prescott, AZ

It has been a little quiet lately but from those that have responded, it seems like the weekend of the 13th will work for many. So let's just set the date for the weekend of the 13th.

It doesn't matter to me if anyone wants to stay both Friday and Saturday nights or just Saturday, but lets plan on a drive on Saturday morning towards Jerome-Sedona-Oak Creek and maybe even up to Flagstaff then return to Prescott in the afternoon. Round trip mileage all the way to Flagstaff is about 200 so going up there and back is quite doable. On Saturday evening we can have gathering/BBQ at my house and maybe even head to the famous "Whiskey Row" afterward.

I will phone the people at the Springhill Suites and Residence Inn and let them know the weekend and get instructions for obtaining their special rate.

Make plans to have a great weekend to beat the heat!!

I Just got some information from our contact at the Marriott SpringHill Suites. They are holding some rooms for both Friday and Saturday nights (12th and 13th). The Rate is $100/night with a continental breakfast and it is located downtown Prescott. They will hold them through Sunday the 7th. If you want to stay there, send me your name and I will have them put it in the reservation system. If you book after the 7th the regular room rate will apply. Any questions, just let me know.

If everyone comes up on Saturday morning through Wickenburg and highway 89 (the fun way), I will probably meet you in Congress at the gas station where Hwy 71 and 89 intersect. Just let me know an estimated time. If no one comes up that way or I can't make it there for some reason , we can come up with a meeting place and time here in Prescott.

Hi all, I"m fairly new to the forum, just bought my Elise 2 weeks ago, but would really like to get to know others. How can I introduce myself so I can participate in these type of events in the future?

Thanks, hope everyone has a blast on this drive!

Congrats on the purchase!!! You are going to really enjoy your new car.

Keep an eye on the Southwest Region Forum. This is where most people post drives.

No introductions needed to join in on the fun times, the Lotus community is a great bunch of people. Just show up at the designated meeting point and time (to be determined) and head up north for some great fun! Come on up on the 13th if you can make it!

Lightbulb Suggestion...

Probably a bit late for this suggestion... nevertheless... If the drive from Prescott towards Jerome-Sedona-Oak Creek is going to end up in Flagstaff, why not stay there on Saturday night? Then explore the Flagstaff area Sunday morning, enjoy the cooler weather, have a nice brunch, and then head back afterward.
Any thoughts?

Rationale: I'll be coming from QC and the initial plan may be a bit much. It will be a distance just to get to Prescott from here. My suggestion is basically balancing the drive- but I realize that this might not work for everyone. So whoever is planning or considering participating, add your thoughts too.

Jeff,

The biggest reason for planning it this way is because I live in Prescott and part of the event was to have a group gathering/party/BBQ at my house on Saturday night.

I understand your rational coming from QC, as it will be at least a 140 mile drive to Prescott alone. An idea would be to head up this way Friday and stay that night also. We have some great restaurants and plenty to see and do here.

If the group would rather stay in Flagstaff, I have no problems with that at all. It will be a great drive no matter what.

Comments from the peanut gallery?

Hotel update

Our friends at the SpringHill Suites just called and said that they have unexpectedly sold out for Saturday. They are however, holding 3 suites at the Residence Inn for the group. They are king suites with a pullout couch in the living room. They said they will hold them until the 10th. If you want one of these suites call the manager, Mya Beckley at 928-775-2232 and tell her you are part of the Lotus Club. The rate is $99. This hotel is less then 2 years old and the suites include a kitchenette.
