Phoenix South Mountain Park drive - Saturday, October 24th

It seems there are at least a few of the Phoenix area owners that are bound and determined to make a meet happen so let's see how many people we can bring out!

I have a friend in town this week and wanted to show him how much fun our cars can be with the right roads and conditions. With the short notice I'm thinking about checking out Phoenix South Mountain Park. Google maps shows some curvy roads and it shouldn't be too out of the way for most of us. How does meeting up at 11am sound? I know we normally start earlier but I'll probably be out late on Friday night and looking at the weather a high of 90 in Phoenix seems manageable. The only thing we'll need to decide on is a place to meet up. Starbucks is usually an easy meeting spot but if you guys have any suggestions, let me know.

Edit with the final info:

Meeting place

Starbucks
2340 E. Baseline Road #166
Phoenix, Arizona 850426952

Time: 10:30am

I'm in of course. Is this Starbucks close to the main entrance on Central to South Mountain?

Starbucks
24th St & Baseline, Phoenix
2340 E. Baseline Road #166
Phoenix, Arizona 850426952
602-304-0263

If not, just list a closer or better location.

Would 10:00am be a possibility at all?

That looks like the closest Starbucks, we'll go with that one. As far as the time, how about we compromise, 10:30am? I wanted to start late because I plan on drinking a bit the night before and didn't want to fight a hangover during the drive.

Sounds like fun

Man I'm bummed. I was just scanning some articles on Lotus talk and ran across your posts. I actually live at the Legacy on Baseline and that Starbucks is about a mile from my house. It'd be great to come introduce myself to you guys, but my Elise is up with Andy at Scottsdale Lotus getting a stage 2 VF Supercharger package and other goodies installed. I haven't had it for going on 7 weeks and I am dying to drive it again. (long story, don't ask)

Do you guys live in South Phoenix? If so, it would be great to meet you sometime when you take your cars out.

I have two comments:
One, you could walk down the mile and still meet everyone Saturday.

Two, I've gotta' ask-seven weeks?

With respect to comment number one, I might just drop by and say hi before you all take off on Saturday.

As for number two, let's just say it pays to double check whether the company in Maryland that you are shipping your existing Katana supercharger off to actually has the parts in stock to modify it. (uggh)

Thank's all! It was nice to have the opportunity to meet up today. The ride down South Mountain was certainly a zippy and curvy one!
Here's a couple of quick photos. Look forward to seeing everyone on the next adventure!

I had a blast meeting with everyone today, thanks for making it out. Apologies for having to bail for the second leg of the drive, I could tell my friend wasn't feeling well and it turned out I gave him a nasty case of car sickness. I am normally down for an all-day drive so next time I will definitely join. I would love to make this a regular event as well (monthly?) even if there are only a few of us that show.

I only managed to snap one interesting picture but here it is.

We had fun as well. It was great seeing everyone! The heat got to Nate, the reason why we didn't go on the second leg of the drive.

Monthly drives sound great!
