Lightbulb Saturday or Sunday cruise anyone?

Looks like a California group of Lotus owners are going to the Hearst Castle this weekend... and then some excursions on twisty roads. Sounds like fun!
Anyone up for a local ride around the Phoenix area this weekend? Any points of interest? The weather is so awesome now... it's a shame to let these opportunities go to waste.

Agreed. AZ weather is perfect right now, even the nights are great top-down weather. I'll be moving to Scottsdale in about 2 weeks so I'm on board for the next one! Look forward too hangin out and cruising.

Talking

Glad to see some interest in driving in the beautiful weather surfacing again! How about a drive next Saturday morning 11-15-08? Somewhere around the Phoenix area…or perhaps another area? If there is interest listed here, we can begin to post ideas for a possible itinerary, so post your interest and/or recommendations… soon!

I'm about ready for another cruise. I have other plans for the 15th -- Milano Music in Mesa is having their annual auction... good deals, fun auction, and entertainment all day.

Maybe the 16th?

The Sunday works for me. We should head out of town, and find some twisties.

Exclamation Possible meeting location and beginning destination...

Sunday works for me too. Since we may have some drivers coming from Tucson, how about if we meet at or near South Mountain Park around 9:00am (since its relatively close to the I-10 freeway), take the twisty drive up to the top (great panoramic view!). Then take the San Tan freeway (202) east to 60 east and head up toward Tortilla Flats... maybe even hit the Goldfield Ghost Town for a snack/tea/coffee or pretend bordello and from there... perhaps to one of the nearby lakes. Those interested in joining in, add your thoughts on this so far.

I'm in. Traffic gets busy quite earlier (bikes on S Mtn, and boat trailers on Tortilla). Might want to leave earlier.

I'm okay with meeting earlier. I was just trying to leave time for anyone driving up from Tucson. Is there anyone still planning to come from Tucson? If so, what's the earliest time you'd like to meet at South Mountain Park? Add your input so that we can finalize our overall plan.

I'm coming on the drive for sure, but not from Tucson. I get the keys to my new place in Scottsdale on Saturday afternoon. Just say when and where.

Not that I am unhappy with the planned Idea! I think its great, but wanted to throw out another idea! The fun run to Jerome on highway 89A is amazing. it is long but super fun!! Just a suggestion..

Either plan works for me too. The drive from S Mtn to Tortilla Flats on the Santan is a long ways (about an hour) away.

Sounds like some fun rides ahead!
How about if we also plan a Saturday trip sometime in early December to Prescott then up to Jerome via 89A? Or if we're really ambitious, then head on 89A right up to Sedona... which is always beautiful in December. Keep the ideas flowing!

We're still planning on going. How about if we meet at 8:30 am near the front entrance of South Mountain Park on Central Ave... Just off of Baseline? If we stay on the street, it may be easier to find one another. We should exchange cell phone numbers... just in case we run in to any issues. If you're going, send me a PM and we can exchange numbers. I have Mike's number already. Just post a quick reply to confirm that you'll be there so that we know who to expect. Should be another fantastic day for a drive... like today was... I was up in Glendale today.
