We here at Scottsdale Lotus would like to help organize a big Sunday drive.
We would love to start the drive here at our store in the morning with Coffee, juice and Bagels etc. and get as many local Lotus owners together as possible. Alright i talked to a freind of mine who runs the Service Facilty at Black Motors in Sedona and his shop is ight next to Old Sedona Bar and Grill at 1425 W. HWY 89A, he has said that we can park in his parking lot for our lunch stop if we need overflow from Old Sedona's parking lot. I am also working on an updated map for the drive that I will print out for everyone to have on Sunday incase we get separated. Meet at Scottsdale Lotus between 8:30 and 9:00 AM Sunday March 9nd for a departure time of 9:30! Something like this: With the option of coming home down I17 or continuing on through Payson and down Beeline! ![]() http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...R32/mingus.jpg Anybody with good ideas, questions or who would like to help organize is welcome to contact me either here through Elise Talk or my email is chad@lotusofscottsdale.com or you can call me direct at the Store which is 480-922-6242. Look forward to hearing from a bunch of you and having a fun drive! ![]() Confirmed In: RifRaf (Esprit or Elise Haven't decided) FZust (Maybe) 2006PolarBlueElise <--(DUH) cdn alien (Elise) lt0302 (Elise S) Brad B (Elise) nvrblu (Elise) ANX (Elise) rvan1 (Elise) Don S. Your proposed route looks good to me. I'd probably split off at the last leg and drive through Payson -- less interstate, more 2-lane, and it's shorter route back to my home in east Mesa.

I agree with the Payson return route. So, I guess you'd either start counterclockwise from Scottsdale to Wickensburg to Prescott then Sedona to Payson and back -or do it in the reverse order.
Also, maybe reserve a place up in Sedona for lunch. I suspect Sedona will be the place were those who have to get home early will separate and take the 17. PS: Give my regards to Dan and Andy.

Allan,
I will pass along hello to Andy, but unfortunatly Dan is no longer here. I also have traded emails with Jim form LOOP (Lotus Owners of Phoenix) and once we decide on a date, time and route he is going to pass along the information to that whole group. I have also spoken to a few of our customers that have been through the shop this week and have gotten a great response. It would be really impressive if we could round up 20 to 30 cars and really have a nice big all Lotus caravan cruisng through some of these towns in Northern AZ. Please give me any input you have as far as when we would like to do this so it works for everyone. |

I'm always up for an interesting ride...
the more the merrier! Perhaps the first weekend in March could be a possibility; providing that this will work for those interested, and that the weather cooperates as well. Post a response if you'd like to join in and/or have a suggestion! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Unfortunately, March 2nd wouldn't work for me -- I'm picking my mom up from the airport. She comes out to visit me from Missouri for a month each year... unless I can talk my son into picking her up.

Hey Chad,
Thanks for organizing this! I'm definitely in. March 2nd is the Wheels of Britain, so many of the Lotus cars will be at that event (myself included). Sunday, March 9th would be perfect for me. I vote for the loop through Payson as well.

Sounds like March 9th will be the weekend. I will make an official thread with route and times. We will also be attending the Wheels of Britain, should be a sweet show. Fred, hurry up with the charger already! ![]() |

It's a car show in downtown Phoenix (in Heritage Square, I think) just for british cars. There's usually a bunch of Jaguars, MGs, Austin-Healeys, and of course, Lotuses. It's a fun event, just checking out some really nice restorations. Everyone votes on their favorite cars, and there are prizes afterwards. If you PM me your email, I can send you details. So -- the car that you're putting together with the supercharger -- is that the 'son of FrankenLotus'?, i.e. from the leftover parts after stripping down your Frankenlotus?

Don't forget the "Wheels of Britian" car show is this Sunday morning (3-2-08) in Phoenix at Heritage Square (5th & Monroe). Even if you didn't register, there will be a multitude of British cars to see and admire. It should be sunny and about 80 degrees. Bring a camera!
