Kansas City GTG, Was (Who crashed their car?)
On KCSR (another local board) someone posted:
"Posted: Fri Feb 16, 2007 10:44 pm Post subject: Spotted a Lotus Elise... I was on my way home from work. I was on I-35 south and spotted a gray/silver car. Looked like a Lotus Elise, I am pretty sure it was one. It was backwards on I-35 south between Santa Fe and Old 56. there was a flat bed tow truck and a couple cops. I could of sworn there is a user here with a gray one... I have no idea why someone with such a kickass car would be driving it in ass weather like it is now... " Who tried driving in this ice/snow storm? My AWD BMW 330xi was sliding all over the road - with snow tires and the DSC light was flickering like a disco ball at 25 mph... I can't EVEN IMAGINE trying to drive the Elise. OK, guys/girls.... fess up! ![]()

I had better go run out to the shop and make sure Liz is still there There's another GG or ST car around our area. From what I gather, it's owned by a gal out south of town- but I'm not sure Sol- That will be 3 gray loti all shopping in Stanley as soon as you move out here... Time for stripes or a color change! Phil

It was Lisa! I emailed her and she responded. She reports no damage to her or the car. Just a "dead battery and lots of mud". That's all the detail I have. She also said she had been busy at work and had not responded to the "dealer road trip" emails.

Hehe, hey now!! ^_^
Actually, I usually don't drive the elise in winter, but that day I didn't have a choice, and -- the snow wasn't forcast until after I was at the office. Normally, I just leave my car in the company garage and get a ride home if there's some snow, but I couldn't find a ride that day -- everyone else wanted to get home and park (I don't blame them) While I did try to leave early, the snow just came down too suddenly. I did almost make it home, and made it MUCH farther then the time I was forced to bank my Z3M off the side of the road for tow during a similar storm a couple years ago. I was doing quite fine, traffic was going nice and slow, I was in the slow lane like a good little girl, until some big commercial truck decided they wanted to drive faster in the slow lane and it was my job to either speed up or get out of his way. In speeding up, of course I lost those back wheels and rather than lose it in the middle of the highway, I opted to drive to the shoulder. Sadly, it was near a bridge where I could see several near collisions even by "better snow cars", so I backed the car up as far as I could away from the highway (hence why it was tilted -- I wanted it to be as visible as possible from farther away) and got a ride home. So, see, I'm not really *that* bad .Aside from MAJOR grime and a dead battery, the Elise is just peachy (~,^) And Mike, good catch on knowing whose it was! You get this week's prize (not sure what that is but...) Take care! Lisa |

Welcome to the fold Lisa!
Just giving you crap... Once again glad you and the car are ok. BTW, what color is your car exactly? Artic Silver? Storm Titanium? Graphite Gray?

>>This is a great thread. It's amazing how you guys tracked her down like that.<<
We know how to get things done in Kansas I'm told that within the next 2-8 years I'll even have cable TV available in my own home! Next thing you'll know, we'll actually have a sports team for our new downtown arena... well that might be a stretch...Best, Phil

darkSol's Storm Titanium was probably the one in the Sprint garage. He did some contract work there for a while. Maybe we can all do lunch. turbophil works on College Blvd just east of Roe and darkSol is about to move into the area. There are some good lunch spots in Town Center and west. Anyone interested? |

![]() ![]() The Storm Titanium one was in parking lot P, I was in G. It belongs to an IT guy who has a custom plate of "GEEK" Go figure. I left a note under his wiper with my ET/contact info but he never got back to me. ![]() Quote:
![]() (Disclaimer: These are photoshop mockups. Actual model/lake/lot/neighbor though. Looks almost exactly like this, but we're adding a Spanish tile roof, etc, etc... oh and for the sake of the California folks who might be reading this... that's SNOW on the ground. Really!)

Krypton Green is OBVIOUSLY the most visible color - it glows in the dark!
