I would be pissed. Have her go to Celebration and walk around and cool off. This is bogus, plain and simple. Things are degenerating fast in the academies and many of the younger docs are pushing back against board certification. We've all passed our federal boards, this is the snooty one for bragging rights. It's become nothing more than a annuity for the academy.

On janitorial duties. I'll make a thread.

I'm voting for April 17th (Tuesday). That is the day before the first DE at heartland. Several are going to the track on the 18th and a lunch prior would be good opportunity chat about it... If not the 17th, then how about the 20th (Friday) and then we can all share DE day stories from the 18th...

Thoughts?

Weekday lunches are out for me. But I'll be there on the 18th for DE. BTW, they start at 3 p.m. this year!

Should work also. I can't believe I never made a DE last year. I intend to this year!

Should work for me just as long as I'm not on my way to Chicago... my sister-in-law had her baby on the 14th... (That's why I was pushing for Thursday!)

(^o^)/ (<-- that is me raising my hand [and also cheering])

I'm game -- Friday -- next one -- 11:15. Just a thought we are amidst March Madness. If we're looking for something quiet, 810 will probably be pretty packed next Friday. Although I don't care really, I just wanted to toss that out there in case any one else has an issue with it .

Unless I hear otherwise, I'll see you there!

WHAT? CAN'T HEAR YOU!
(/crowd noise)

Sounds like a plan - although you can't see our cars in the parking lot from where we would be sitting inside... I thought that was one of the objectives

I just wanted to follow up and see if this is still on. I do have a meeting that is scheduled until 11:30, but will meet you all immediately thereafter (about 10 min to get to my car and get to 810)

Hopefully the meeting will run short. It's what i get for not blocking out time on my calendar .

Thanks!

Thanks for posting to remind me. We had a death in the fam, so I've been out part of the week. My assistant cleared the calendar including the coveted Lotus Lunch!

I'll do my best to be there! Getting caught up is a bear...

Best,

Phil

Wish I could make it - just got off the phone with Phil.

I'm on our way to Chicago in about two hours to see my sister's new baby - but I get to escape tomorrow to go visit Fox Valley to test drive an Exige S and then to Lamborghini Chicago for some Gallardo-ness

It's also pouring/thunder/lightning over here in Shawnee. You guys are crazy

The wife and I are going to be getting an Elise within the next 3 months. I was wondering were you got your cars serviced in KC, or if you took them to St. Louis for service.

Thanks.

Phil and Mike:

You were talking about "cones" and how they can't do any damage...

I got this link from a co-worker with the caption: "What was the owner thinking?? Letting anyone, but especially a comedian, drive his Enzo??"

My response: "how could anyone hurt this car going around a track by themselves with just a few cones on the track"

http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/play...07161&src=news

My luck -- foot slips off the clutch, car jumps forward, takes out a bunch of bystanders

RE: service -- I took my car into JP Werks to get it serviced. I think the others' took theirs to St. Louis...

The cones did not do that. But cones can mar or even crack the body of the Elise. You still have to be careful.

Re: Service

I have been to MidRivers Lotus (St. Louis) for service and have been pleased. My last service was at George's Imports on State Line about 81st. They service a lot of exotics. In fact they usually have a Ferrari or two and a few old British cars in whenever I am there. They are quite good, but more expensive than MidRivers. I am due for my two year service. I will probably give the guy that took care of my DeLorean for 20+ years a shot at it. If he wants to do it, I would have no problem recommending him! I'll let you know.

Hi,
Basic service in my garage. Anything more than that is a day trip to StL. Luckily the dealership is on the W side of the StL and even from Topeka it's a one day (long day) drive to/fro.

Mike, BTW I talked to MikeB at MidRivers and the next required service is at 32k. The 'annual' is nothing more than an oil change etc. So I'm going to skip the trip this year.

That is good news, I live about 2 minutes from George's.

I will let you know when we pull the trigger, right now we're looking for the right one. Any advice?
