I put Lisa at that position because that's when I started seeing her around the Sprint campus. It's a good question though... I'll update the first post with actual pickup dates.

Anyone on this list that knows their actual delivery date please PM me with it and I'll update the list.

David

One of the lost owners here - 2005 GG picked up from MidRivers in late 2005. Was thinking about getting another Elise recently but landed #2 spot for a Corvette Blue Devil next year.

Still lurking in case the vette does not come through.

Interesting observation from last HPT event. Phil and I played the cat and mouse game where he would teach me a section of the course and then a few laps later we'd trade and I'd return the favor. With his cam switch over and our wt differential of about 220 lbs, he was pulling away visibly and consistently on the straights.

What a great game of cat and mouse too! I may need you to ride with me again to yell "POWER, POWER, POWER" through turn 7 like our first time out together. That spin has me a bit gun shy after the spin

Best,

Phil

You need to see yourself on the video, you are about a car width off the line there. But your behavior very normal, besides remember, this is for fun.

Go for it!

BTW since we're talking video - here's my fastest laps from last night - I was running low 1:43's:

The C6Z06 Vette and the Red Viper on R comps were running 1:39's so I have no doubt that with more power I could run with those puppies...

How did you shrink the videos to post? Mine are around 600meg each.

I ran them through MS Movie Maker, added titles/credits and saved the movie with "optimal playback on this computer" which dropped the size from 330mb to about 120mb - which then uploaded easily using the Google uploader.

Hope this helps!

Dave - I like your videos!

Sorry, I just lurk occasionally over here. Love the Elise, just don't happen to own one. But, I do know some friendly folks from the area who do, so I visit occasionally.

I might have captured some pics of the cat and mouse game here. Evaluating Picasa Web currently, so those pics may not live there for a long time. If you see something you like, better grab it now just in case.

Dave, nice videos. Honestly, I think you could probably get pretty close to running with those high horsepower r-compound shod monsters without any extra power. I see some places where you can pick up time watching your video, and as a reference point, I have run a high 1:41 in the Z and can consistently run 1:42s. I've seen you continue to improve your lines each time out. I wouldn't be surprised if you could get to lower 1:40s without extra power just by continuing to improve. (Not to say Babak and Phil aren't improving, I just don't ever run with them or see their videos...)

Plus, it would be fun to watch an NA Elise stalking the big-power cars out there.

I'm curious - I've read that the '05s are notoriously difficult to heel-toe. Have any of you done any mods to address that? I've read of a few different options, just curious if anyone here has applied a remedy and what the results were. I bring this up because I noticed that it seems like Dave isn't performing heel-toe downshifts, and I am assuming it's because it's a little too physically challenging to do so. From the few moments I've spent in an Elise (thanks Babak), I could see it being a challenge.

Sorry for barging in!

- Craig

Craig, good to see you. Heal toe in the 05 is much easier with the heal'n'toe (HNT) pad installed, I don't think about it anymore.
Thanks for the pix, they look great.

We have the HNT pad and I'm doing pretty well with it. I had never tried that before, so take it FWIW.

I adjusted the pedals per Stan and the Lotus manual and have no problem with H/T. We did a similar adjustment to Mike's car and I believe he reported that he can also H/T now as well... Net-Net the '05's are just as easy to H/T if setup correctly, IMO...

Best,

Phil

Phil's adjustment has certainly helped, but I still am not as good at heel and toe as with my old Elan. Of course, that might have something to do with synchronizers that work and not having to practice much on the Elise. I would like to try Babak's HNT pad.
