I did only get the rears this time since the fronts are just fine (last time I got new OEM fronts, it turned out there was very little wear on them).

I did ask someone at work that wondered if the tires were aligned -- i did have to leave (it was 3 hours to figure out how to lift the car and change 2 tires) for a meeting -- so perhaps that may be part of the issue.

I would like, however, next GtG to go to Phil's. I looked up how to change an air filter, and I can tell you I have no way to remove a tire. I could try to run my car off the side of a box or lawn mower, but I think that may be not such a good idea. I also don't know how to adjust the windows (can this be done using tiny computer screwdrivers?) and other random things.

Don't forget -- my mod is the McDonald's cupholder under the seat. I've had maybe 4 since 2005. I'm really careful with them.

Thanks for the offer to take a look, too -- If I can't get the rears to stop pulling out from behind me, I'll just have to work from home until it's resolved

AD07s on the front and 960ASs on the rear might make for some interesting handling. It would probably make the back end feel loose. Alignment is probably not a problem if the rear tires you took off were evenly worn.

As far as the wobble, a half inch is not OK. A lot less might be.

Well clearly 6 is better than 4... Thought I would have a better chance of receiving a whole set if I ordered extras... as it turns out, I'm still a tire/wheel short

Actually I ordered 4 extra wheels with T1-Rs mounted on them for the street and a new set of R888s for the rear since the old RA-1s are about toast...

Hope my wheels/tires don't find the same fate yours did

-P

Hey! My missing tire and wheel showed up. Packaging was in bad shape, but the wheel, tire, and pressure sensor valve stem seem to be fine. I called Tire Shoppe to let them know and Joe was pleased. They are not on the car, yet. Maybe tomorrow. Or maybe Dave dropped it off now that he knows we are on to him.

MikeRoberts44,

Actually it's Sagamore and 103rd. Right on the corner. I should be out Friday morning doing some work. What time are you driving by?

David,

I'm on the Northwest corner. I'll have the garage door open, if you have a few minutes stop by.

Yes, it IS THAT LOUD Anytime I think my car is getting too loud for my taste, I can always just jump in Dave's car and get a sense for what a really loud Lotus is all about...

Ahh yes, indeed. And, after finally finding some people who know tires and performance cars -- they did say that the mismatched brand/tread is likely the issue.

What I'm wondering now is where you got your tires and how long it took to get them. Tirerack.com is limited to the Yokes and those front wheels are a bear to find. Looks like I'm out the cash for another set -- unless I want to keep getting pulled over for "weaving" like I was a couple nights ago. I'm just glad I didn't have anything to drink (that would have been an ugly ticket)!

Thanks Mike!

What about me? I know about tires and performance cars!

I would like to take a look at your wheels to see how "bent" they really are. As I recall, the 960ASs did not come in a good size for the front wheels, but I will take another look. I got my tires and wheels from Tire Shoppe and am quite pleased with the service, but before you do anything else, let's get together and talk this over.

In fact, my old AD07s are still on the stock wheels in my garage. They could go on your car for a few days or weeks until we can get the right tires for your car. It would take me about 15 minutes to put them on if you bring your car over.

Why don't we do all that this weekend. I will PM you my phone and address.
