Alarm and Shipping?

Aloha!

My wife and I just got back from our househunting trip to Oahu and after weighing what we could afford in the current market we've opted to rent rather than buy, at least for the time being. Thankfully, it's in a nice area of Kailua, so it will be an amazing place to live, and I'll get to drive the H-3 to/from work.

Now to the meat of the thread...

Folks who shipped your Elise from mainland to Hawaii. I'll be shipping mine with Matson in December and at least over the phone they say they can and will ship the Elise...has anyone had a different experience? I plan to drive it to Richmond CA for shipment.

Also...with the sensitive alarm system on the Elise...what did you do to it or tell the shipper to do so it wasn't an issue?

Mahalo,
Dave

When cars were shipped for SCCA nationals people locked their cars the old fashion way, by inserting the key. This served the locking need without activating the alarm, so that it wouldn't be tripped on the transporter and run the battery down.

Thank you, Babak--I'll mention that to the shipper. Dave
