Glad everyone enjoyed the event

Everyone has their favorite product for booger removal I know, but watch out for some of the tar remover products on the Starshield, especially e.g. on the hood area - they can leave a matte spot as they slightly melt the plastic, especially if you rub - not THAT much difference between plastic and rubber! Ask me how I know

Track was working great !! .......... Although I had some kind of suspension problem after the 3rd set....didn't make the 4th. Tom drove it and agreed...something's askew....probably shocks. They'll check it out next week, so hopefully I'll be back on track for the Aug track day.

2nd that. Makes for a good touch up spray just after a wash to catch the rubber/bugs the sponge/mitt didn't get. I haven't noticed any surface marring on the starshield yet...Hopefully the "wax finish" aspect of the product isn't covering anything up.

No, I'm sure the TW Bug & Tar is fine - I was once stupid enough to try a little bit of Goof Off on a very stubborn mark. Big Mistake

Careful on the Adams Polish though - from the website it says "effectively blocks harmful UV rays" and if this is true, you will get differential fading of the paint i.e. your paint under the bra won't fade at the same rate as the paint exposed directly to UV. Most clear bra material advertises transparency to UV for this reason. Just a thought ..........

Here's some photos taken by me or my father. Sorry I didn't take a lot at the event... usually I'm photo happy this time I was more trying not to get burnt in the sun!

^ Beautiful shot.

Full set of pictures here!

Great pics. It's nice to get pics of yourself driving, since that's pretty difficult to do from the driver's seat.

Ha! Very difficult... The good thing about the Canon is I just set it on sports mode and set the lens up for auto stabilize and focus and hand it to my dad. It can make anyone take some solid shots

Just need that damn Mark II + wide angle and mount that bad boy in the car... would get some BEAUTIFUL 1080p wide angle track footage!

Here are some shots I snapped. It was nice to meet some new people and learn a new track [for me]. Thanks to the great guys at Auto Europe and Jeff for helping me out!

Cheers,
Ryan

All I had was a simple camera so most of my shots are static shots of cars in the lot, however, the first two action shots turned out ok, and the last one deserves an honorable mention...its Yamaha powered :-)

I had a similar idea but thought I would put this out there since I have gone through this on my 05 elise. My elise had yellowing starshield for a few reasons. I had used TW Bug & Tar, clay bar, carnauba wax, etc. plus apparently they had a bad batch of product.

I started the process to get it fixed under warranty. I talked with star shield as I wanted to know how this works and what is best to use on it. The 3m film and your paints clear coat contain UV inhibitors to prevent harmful rays that cause yellowing so that is already built in to maintain the original color of our paint.

Anyway, I ended up trading in the elise on an s240 so I didn't actually get the film replaced but when I spoke with them they recommended the Adams polish as it’s not abrasive, gets off the grime and helps protect against UV rays and also recommend a good carnauba wax. Before applying on the s240, I contacted Adams to make sure this would not cause any yellowing or paint discolor and was told it will not from years of testing.

Here are a few links for you to check out:

Hope this helps. By the way...looks like you guys had a great time out there!!!
