Workin' For Lotus

Just fyi...

I started working for Lotus Engineering in Ann Arbor back at the first of the year. I'm actually the only person working there who owns a Lotus.

Anyway, if there's anything I can do for anybody, feel free to ask. There aren't a lot of actual Lotus people there (mostly work on local domestic contracts) but I'll help in any way I can.

I for one would simply like to know the kinds of things LE is working on, to the extent you can share.

Unfortunately, we're not actually working on anything for Lotus Cars UK at that location. It's all work for various other OEMs. Mostly engine dynos and emissions certifications. Pretty much the only thing Lotus there is the name on the building and the three cars parked in the shop (one Elise, two Exiges). Other than that, I can't say much because I know we have some top secret stuff and I don't know what's ok to talk about and what's not, so better to just not talk about anything.

Don't think I have quite that kind of pull. Have you tried contacting them? http://www.lotuscars.com/Contact.aspx

So Cal is VERY consumer friendly...it more or less is if you've ever brought your car in for that problem before .

I don't have any new information right now (I've only been there a month and a half!) but I've already had one person ask me to get them in contact with somebody who works at that facility. I'm not claiming to be some kind of great insider, I'm just offering to help out in any way I can, as one Lotus owner/gear head to the rest of the community of Lotus owners.

If I do come across any information that isn't super-secret-squirrel, then I'll happily share.

Kane,

Make sure you make it out to some of the Great Lakes Lotus Club events this year. I know the guys from Lotus Engineering come out from time to time.

I'll be there when I can! Unfortunately I'm working weekends, so 90% of the events are going to be out.
