AiM MxL Cluster

I'm working with AiM on interfacing their cluster to the Elise, i've provided them with the basic cluster information so they can add everything thats available from the stock ecu and make it available to people.
then i hope to provide a reflash that includes any 'extra' data thats available.

unfortunately the arguably two most useful things, afr and oil pressure aren't available anyway, so have to be added externally.

Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig in mud. After a while, you realise the pig is enjoying it.

yeah i mean that anything like that you'd have to add as a seperate sensor/wiring, it wouldnt be CAN (unless you added it as a CAN sensor, which is doable)

Aim said they'll probably have the new cluster firmware in house end of next week.

Im mildly interested as long as its plug and play. I would be more interested if it had more track based data logging capabilities, or if it interfaced with the traqmate setup I already have.

Ultimately if I could just display the lap time from my traqmate it would be really appealing to me.

The Strada is their basic model that mainly does normal dash functions. The Pista and the Pro models include G sensors and will do GPS track mapping and everything all in one. You would no longer need the Traqmate with the Pista or Pro model.

it'll be a harness adapter most likely. ( i'm just helping them out, i'm not involved with them beyond the software)

bench test worked, so i added it to the car, in my usual style since i have a plethora of obd2 cables i just made something that connected the obd2 port to the cluster, 4 wires and i was done.

just have to check the speedo and fuel now and its good to go, AIM also sent me one of their smaller units to test as well.
