It is the only AGM that uses OEM fitting points, but as I stated above, Velcro underneath is recommended.
BTW, 75/35 is not an Optima, but rather a dealer designation.

The Optima is secured with your OEM mounting plates just like your original battery.

The polarity of the posts (connections) are reversed between the 35 and the 75/25 however both work on the Elise due to the slack in the cables.

Yeah, I see lots of people selling the 75/35 with part number 9022-091 (the 75/25 P/N is 8022-091), but it is not a current Optima offering. I guess the 75/25 becomes a 75/35 if you install it backwards.

BTW, thanks for all your input here, I really appreciate it.

Wait, the 75/35 I picked up at costco yesterday is not a current offering?

So what does that mean? Costco is selling old stock or recycled batteries?

Or did I misunderstand?

Optima call it the 75/25, but for certain dealers they re-name it the 75/35 . No worries it is current. On the side of the battery is a white label with a 4 digit code. The 1st digit is the year or manufacturer and the 2nd, 3rd & 4th are the day of that year.

The redtop fits but the factory bracket that holds the OE Interstate battery in place does not secure the Optima well enough. It can easily slide back and forth.

The OE battery has a notch at the bottom that the factory bracket nestles into and ties it down. The Optima's base doesn't seem like its going to work with the factory bracket.

What am I doing wrong?

I have a feeling that somewhere along the line I've missed the point that I need a custom bracket for the red top.

I agree it does not secure as well as the OEM, but I suggest adding some industrial Velcro to the base as I have done.

I am not sure I would trust that either on the track. I am off to VIR in a couple of days. I'll be using the old interstate.
