Changing the battery in the key fob
Even though the life of the battery is supposed to be
three years, Lotus recommends changing it every 12 months. Note that once you open the fob, the sketch of the inner workings in the manual leads you to think that it just 'pop's up and out'. In actuality it slides out. Making sure not to touch anything but the outer edge of the battery, which is directed by the manual, I slid the new battery in (back to front, inside the clip) and closed the fob up. Not sure if I had remembered to wait 10 seconds before putting the battery in but I believe I had. Now ready to test the fob I brought it close to vehicle's door and pressed the big button. No response came forth. I then remembered to hold both buttons down for a full 10 seconds and then, seconds later, the re-programming was complete. Whew! Didn't think the changing of a fob battery required having the manual at hand but in my case it sure did. |
