Dash buzzer

Has anyone been able to get the annoying high pitched buzzer in the dashboard to shut up? I mean permanently, not just start the motor or pull the key out.

I have seen pics of the dash torn apart. Someone has to have found the annoying buzzer.

I'd rather like to know the same thing. It's rather irritating to a fault.

Exclamation

I'm guessing it's part of the instrument cluster, since it isn't in the parts manual -- just a guess, though....

Can't believe there was no solution to this, very annoying while troubleshooting recent radio acquisition.

I would guess you have to get to the cluster to disconnect the purple/white wire. Lets me ask you, don't you want to be reminded that you have left your lights on? The buzzer saved me a few times.

Yes, I do, it's the sitting in the car with the key in the ignition accessory position while I work on the radio with the inccesant beep. Guess I'll put some hearing protectors on.

OK, and where do I find said purple/white conductor? Can I do it without getting into the instrument cluster? That would be ideal.

Yep, I don't think it's worth it unless you are disassembling the dash for other reasons
