In Missouri, a pre-drive goes without saying. The DOT here loves to chip and seal I want to enjoy my drives without trying to remember which way to turn on route Y, and when I'm approaching route Z. Plus, having GPS will be nice to navigate around routes in a pinch that are altered between test runs and the real deal

Now maybe I'm having a slow night here, but that video only shows how to transfer POIs or addresses. I have the current version of the Garmin Communicator plugin and once I've created a route, the 'send to GPS' option disappears.

and for what it's worth, the Mac route planning tool provided by Garmin is now called Road Trip and is available here:

Sorry Andy, I didn't watch the whole thing. I'll try to find a more definitive answer for everyone.

Pretty sure that the plugin does not yet transfer full routes from Google maps. I just dug around the Garmin site and they mention the POI transfer but nothing about routes.

But on the positive side, I found a newer version of Road Trip and that's always worked well for creating routes for my purposes. Maybe not quite as elegant as the Google Maps interface, but getting close now.

Andy was right, per their tech support, Garmin only supports route downloads from MapQuest.

Sorry for the earlier confusing info.
