How to Turn the Alarm ON not OFF

I can find a lot of threads about turning the alarm off, but can't seem to find how to turn it back on. I have the little white booklet with the alarm code and have tried entering the code but there are no instructions for what you do after you enter the code? Anyone know how to turn the alarm on?

The previous owner turned it off.

Don't you have a remote??? If you are referring to the PIN, that is used to turn it off, not on.

the panic button works. my immobilizer does not work. I can get in turn the key and hit the start button. I thought you had to hit the big button (immobilizer) before starting the car? at least thats how all the other cars i've been in have worked.

Are you saying the car will not start because of the immobilizer? Once you turn off the alarm, the immobilizer also disarms and allows you to start. Another possibility, the system has been programmed to not activate the immobilizer automatically, so you don't need to turn it off. You need to explain a little clearer.

my car starts fine. All I have to do is turn the key, and hit the start button. What I am saying is; shouldn't i have to hit the immobilizer button in order to be able to start my car?

I would like it so I have to hit the immobilizer button to start my car.

Are you the original owner of the car? If not, maybe the previous owner disabled the alarm. There are procedures for entering the "setup mode" of the alarm to turn on and off various features. There are several threads on the forum on how to access the setup mode and change the features. There is even a copy of the alarm manual somewhere around here with the various programming settings.

It seems that the immobilizer has been programmed for "active" arming, meaning that it will only arm in conjunction with the alarm when you press the large "A" remote button. Personally, I find this configuration far more convenient than it arming automatically after 1 minute. So, when you leave your car press button "A" to arm the alarm & immobilizer and when you return press "A" again to turn them both off. If you prefer to not arm the alarm but still have the immobilizer active, then you need to reprogram the system. To do this follow my instructions for "Immobilizer Active Arming" but substitute F6 for N12. Remote Key Fob & Immobilizer Programming
Cheers,
Michael

Here is the link to the thread with the Alarm Manuals: Manual for the Alarm System

It shows all the programming needed to set up the system the way you want it.

Hope this helps.

Wayne
